6 Stanford Center for Professional Development Since 1969, Stanford University has extended its faculty excellence in research and teaching in the School of Engineering and related academic departments to a global community of working professionals through the Stanford Center for Professional Development (SCPD). The SCPD is a recognized leader in developing and delivering professional and executive education to industry. We also extend education to industry via distance learning platforms. This year, SCPD will deliver more than 180 graduate courses host and archive more than 10,000 hours of programming deliver scores of custom programs at Stanford and around the globe provide student and client support to more than 20,000 students from over 600 companies around the globe
7 Entrepreneurship Program for Minas Gerais The Entrepreneurship program for Minas Gerais will combine the knowledge and skills of faculty from Stanford University and industry experts. The program will support Minas Gerais strong interest in continuing to foster its economic potential. The program is designed for owners and key individuals from IT companies (in teams of 2 or more) to provide an overview of Silicon Valley best practices and to help individuals and organizations improve their ability to create business, whether this is a great technology idea or a mature business seeking growth opportunities. Stanford University will collaborate with Minas Gerais to deliver an executive education program that captures the innovative & entrepreneurship culture at Stanford and in Silicon Valley. The program will change individuals, companies and the regional ecosystem into an entrepreneurship and technology hub.

9 Program Elements for Minas Gerais Innovation & Entrepreneurship Online Leveling Coursework this phase will engage participants in a digital education experience with a secure single sign on featuring: online videos, polling, sharing in a social networking environment where participants can engage, interact and post assets. This experience will provide leveling and baseline knowledge in order prepare participants for the Stanford Campus Program and could lead to a professional certificate. Stanford Campus Program a 5-day immersive executive program in state-of-the-art facilities designed to share best practices and tools that will allow participants to diagnose the strengths and weaknesses of their ventures through a deep dive with faculty, and Silicon Valley VCs and experts. Participants will also be required to do online pre-work in preparation for the week at Stanford. 4-8 weeks Intersession participants will actively work on findings from the Stanford Campus phase, including assignments specific to each company/entrepreneur. Minas Gerais Program - a 5-day immersive workshop experience in Brazil, where participants will work intensively on their startup product plans with Stanford coaching. Startups will refine their business opportunity, product design and development plans, execution plans, and go to market plans. Online Hard Skills Supplemental Courses Stanford will collaborate with Minas Gerais to deliver open, online courses to the IT sector to supplement hard skills gaps. Technical courses could include: digital image processing, convex optimization, quantum mechanics, signal processing, biotechnology, biostatics, cryptography, etc.
