3 OUR EXCHANGE PROGRAMS Fontys Academy for Creative Industries (Fontys ACI) is part of Fontys University of Applied Sciences, one of the largest Dutch universities with campuses located primarily in the south of The Netherlands. Fontys ACI provides exchange students with a range of full-time, advanced programs within the fields of International Event, Music & Entertainment Studies, Lifestyle and Trendwatching. There is a global industry surrounding this world of entertainment that is involved in the economic aspects that surround creative products. With a focus on commerce and communication, the academy provides a wide variety of programs, from learning how to work behind the scenes in international business to marketing, management and production, international marketing and creative concept development. Our exchange program Communication - International Event Music and Entertainment Studies (30 EC s) offers a wide range of subjects related to the field of communication. Our exchange program Marketing - International Event Music and Entertainment Studies (30 EC s) offers a wide range of subjects related to the field of commerce and economics. Our bachelor students take these courses in their fourth year. Exchange students join them and choose a total of 10 advanced courses which represent 3 EC s each. 4 Minor Trendwatching (30 EC, 1 semester). Students learn how to systematically trace, analyse and interpret trends. With this knowledge, they will be able to advice organisations on how to adapt to this fast changing world, and in doing so generate long-term success. This minor focuses on the research and development of transmedia productions and their value in the digital age. Students develop the skills to tell stories that unfold across various channels. By combining the development of objectives and monitoring tools with other practical skills, such as writing scenarios and designing content, the students learn to really get audiences involved in the transmedia production they create in the course of this program. 5 Who can study at Fontys ACI? The course programs are open to students from all of our partner universities, irrespective of the agreement having been signed at a departmental level or at a corporate level (Fontys Hogescholen). If you are interested in becoming an exchange student at Fontys, even though your home university and Fontys have no exchange agreement, please contact us. Accommodation All exchange students are entitled to reside in furnished accommodation of a similar standard and price as the accommodation utilised by local students. Your student room would be located off-campus, in the city of Tilburg, always within cycling distance of the campus. 6 Our students Fontys Academy for Creative Industries is a leading institute in higher education for the entertainment and lifestyle industries. Our bachelor students are eager to develop creative concepts, selling digital content and analyse and forecast future trends. These young, upcoming professionals would gladly apply their knowledge and skills for the benefit of your business development. In their third and fourth year, students participate in an internship and follow a 30 EC program of their own choice (minor). We encourage our students to do internships and/or their minor abroad.
