The tentative schedule for classes is: Saturday all day (9.30 am to 6.30 pm); Sundays and Mondays (.30 pm to 8.30 pm). All our Master s courses are taught in English. Students who are not employed must complete a work placement/internship for a minimum period of six months after which they must submit an internship report. 9 Practical Information ADMITTANCE CRITERIA This Master s is open to students holding a bachelor degree (BA) preferably in Geography, Law, Economics or a general degree in Humanities or Engineering (Geosciences). To apply for this Master s Programme, we will require the following from you: A recognised bachelor degree earned in a discipline appropriate for the prospective graduate degree. Paris Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi doesn t normally accept average grades that are below 12/20 or 3.0/.0 or its equivalence for M1 degree level. It is required to have the minimum average of 12/20 or 3.0 /.0 or its equivalence for admission into M2 degree level A certificate or a copy of your undergraduate University diploma A minimum of 3 years of working experience is normally needed. For M2 degree level, there should be minimum of 2 years gap between the earned bachelor degree and admission into the M2 degree level Further documents for graduate applicants include: A letter from your employer statement stating duration of employment and your job profile A detailed Curriculum Vitae and cover letter (not exceeding two pages) A personal statement (not exceeding one page) For all students, proficiency in English (both oral and written) is a prerequisite. You will be required to produce a certificate or proof of an English aptitude test, TOEFL (score of 550, 213 CBT, ibt) or IELTS (score 6.0), valid for at least two years. Exceptions: Graduate applicants who have previously completed requirements for a Bachelor s degree at an accredited university in an English-speaking country. Proficiency in French is plus but this is not mandatory. At the discretion of Paris-Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi, any early admission decisions will be made for those students who are exceptionally well qualified. All candidates must provide an application file in English or French (or an official translation). It is highly recommended that you submit your application at least three months in advance before the commencement of the course. For more information, please consult the relevant section on our website: ASSESSMENT AND GRADUATION CRITERIA Throughout the year, there will be frequent assessment and valuations of all students. You will be also evaluated on your individual assignments, internships, presentations, reports and examinations which usually take place towards the end of every semester or after every course. These will be in the form of presentations or projects prepared individually or in teams. The tests will be in the form of oral test, written tests, reports, record readings, etc. based on projects. For all classes, attendance is mandatory and it is important that all students are always punctual and observe university regulations at all times. Master s Thesis For non-employed students, you will be required to submit a thesis based on your internship. If you are employed fulltime and attending this Master s programme, you will be required to submit a thesis based on research. The jury of thesis will be the same as that in Paris.
