2 Advanced Analytics Overview Maximize CisionPoint s analytics capability to understand the true impact of media coverage, gain actionable insights, and show ROI. Advanced charts and graphs provide complex metrics such as tone, impact score, and net effect. Advanced Analytics Features: Filtering by Advanced Analytics Tags Viewing Advanced Analytics Metrics Viewing and Saving Advanced Charts Access to an Advanced Dashboard Cision Support: [email protected] Advanced Analytics Overview pg. 2

3 Analytics Metrics In addition to viewing your advanced charts and graphs CisionPoint allows you to view the metrics that are used to produce them. Advanced analytics metrics are used to help determine the impact and value of media coverage. To view the metrics select full analytics view from the Display Settings dropdown. Frequency: The total number of news items appearing within a certain period of time. Impact Score: A composite of Prominence and Tone becomes an overall score on a scale of -100% to +100%. Factors of this score include; news item placement, headline, initial mention, extent of the mention, dominance, and visuals. Net Effect: The result of impressions of individual news items combined with the Impact Score determine an overall Net Effect for a specific period of time, or surrounding a particular issue or event. Net Effect can be positive or negative and is a measure of overall performance. Tone: The editorial attitude conveyed in news coverage. In Cision methodology, it is measured on a 5-point scale, from very positive to neutral to very negative. Cision Support: [email protected] Analytics Metrics pg. 3

4 Filtering Coverage Using Analytics Tags We know that there may be a time when you only want to view coverage and analytics metrics related to a particular subject. Use Advanced Analytics tags to compare competitors, brands, or products, measure message penetration or spokesperson performance. From the coverage page, select Add Filter Select Analytics Tags Select desired analytics tags Select Apply Filters Cision Tips Advanced Analytic tags are set up at the beginning of the contract based on your subscription to CisionPoint. 5 Using Advanced Charts Use CisionPoint s Advanced Charts to demonstrate your impact in a visual form. Advanced Charts can be exported, printed, and added to saved. To open a Cision Advanced Chart, you first need to decide what metric you want to analyze. Simply select the chart name while being mindful of the desired Chart Group from the Cision Advanced Charts listing page. The chart will display in a new workspace. After the Chart is created, you can further customize it using filters. Let s try it together! For example, let s say you want to change the date range and only view very positive and very negative tone. Select Company by country (frequency) chart Use Add Filter to make a new selection. Select Date Select desired date range Now go back to Add Filter and Select Tone Select Very Positive and Very Negative Select Apply Filter Select Create and Print your hard work to show off to your coworkers! 6 Advanced Dashboard CisionPoint s Advanced Dashboard allows you to quickly view key charts which will provide insight into the overall impact of your PR campaign. Your dashboard can include up to 6 advanced charts, which will be set up by your Cision analyst. To begin, select analyze, and advanced dashboard You can share individual charts or a complete dashboard with whomever you like by printing or exporting them to be included in presentations or reports.
