3 PROJECT EXPERIENCE BW Offshore (Formally Prosafe Production Services Pte. Ltd.) FPSO POLVO Safety Case When BW Offshore was contracted to provide a 1.78 million barrel capacity floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel for service in the Campos Basin, offshore Brazil, the operator turned to ABS Group to provide a wide range of technical and risk-based safety services for the project. These included a comprehensive structural analysis of the existing tanker selected for conversion to assess the adequacy of the hull interface structures and to verify that the target component safety level was achieved. Guidance on some design modifications was also provided. A series of safety assessments were completed, which assisted in the preparation of a safety case for the vessel, addressing both design and operational issues. BW Offshore (Formally Prosafe Production Services Pte. Ltd.) FPSO ABO Radiation and Dispersion Study ABS Group s study included the identification of heat radiation impact on the surroundings during continuous and emergency flaring, (i.e., potential impact on personnel and equipment on deck and a recommendation as to acceptable flaring rate limits for various areas/activities). The dispersion of hydrocarbon gas from the two options was analyzed, and potential fire hazards were evaluated. Consequences of the HP Flare (thermal radiation impact) and the IG Vent (gas dispersion impact) were also examined by means of consequence modeling. Chevron Shipping Company LLC Risk-Based Inspection for Agbami Chevron asked ABS Group to conduct a risk-based inspection (RBI) program for a new FPSO, Agbami. ABS Group used various techniques, including HAZID, qualitative analysis and quantitative reliability to develop the RBI. Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering Co. Ltd. (DSME) FPSO Probabilistic Explosion Evaluation For a FPSO construction project, ABS Group performed a probabilistic explosion evaluation that involved a full probabilistic assessment. This project was a final validation of the FPSO and included HAZOPs and a fire and explosion study. Egyptian Offshore Drilling Company Baker Marine Pacific Class 375 Deep Drilling Offshore Jackup Construction ABS Group provided engineering support and project management services for two jackup drilling rigs built in Singapore. ABS Group conducted an engineering review, construction supervision and factory acceptance tests to confirm that the units had been constructed, commissioned and tested for delivery.

4 Energo Engineering Seismic Hazard Assessment of Offshore BP Production Platforms ABS Group performed a review and update of the seismic hazard estimates for 11 BP offshore platforms located in the Columbus Basin offshore of the southeastern coast of Trinidad. A regional model was developed for probabilistic seismic hazard assessment that incorporated models of shallow active faults along the Caribbean South American tectonic boundary zone and models of deep earthquakes related to remnants of ancient subducted plates in the region. The seismic assessment fulfilled new ISO seismic criteria for offshore structures and provided BP with a comparison of ground motions for which the platforms had been previously designed. The ground motions were estimated using the new seismic code criteria. In addition, deterministic magnitude-distance thresholds were established for the purpose of developing rapid response and damage assessment for the aging platform. ExxonMobil Seismic Hazard Assessment of the ExxonMobil Bass Strait Offshore Development, Gippsland Basin, Australia To investigate the consequences of rare but damaging earthquakes for ExxonMobil within the Gippsland Basin, Bass Strait, offshore of Australia, ABS Group developed site-specific seismic design criteria for offshore facilities, including drilling and production platforms, pipelines, jetties, a marine loading terminal, and their supports and foundations. ABS Group performed a state-of-the-art probabilistic seismic hazard assessment (PSHA) that incorporated an explicit accounting of model uncertainty through the use of a logic tree sampled with Monte Carlo simulation. The resulting probabilistic estimates of the ground motion hazard provided ExxonMobil with engineering seismic design criteria that fulfilled international and local seismic standards for the various engineered elements of the development. ABS Group is renowned for its expertise in a range of risk assessment methods and consequence modeling. We help clients assess requirements and feasibility for a diverse range of new construction, asset life-extension projects and fitness for-service evaluations.

5 PROJECT EXPERIENCE ExxonMobil/International Marine Transportation (IMT) ExxonMobil Yoho FSO For the Yoho FSO operating off the coast of Nigeria, West Africa, ABS Consulting provided a risk-based inspection plan for the hull structure and moorings, allowing for greater flexibility in handling the offshore inspection regimen while minimizing tank entry through the use of an optimized inspection program. Management and execution of the RBI plan were carried out through the use of the ABS SafeShip Hull Maintenance database, which is capable of providing the data management and trending necessary to keep the RBI plan current. In addition, ABS Consulting developed reliability-centered maintenance for all of the unit s main systems and machinery. Hyundai Heavy Ind. Co. Ltd. Safety Studies for Bongkot A full range of safety studies based on requirements according to industrial practices was completed for an offshore platform construction project. ABS Consulting delivered task reports, including HAZID/HAZOP, QRA, fire and explosion risk analysis and a Safety Integrity Level (SIL) workshop. Jurong Shipyard Pte. Ltd. (JSPL) Tiro & Sidon FPSO Safety Studies The Tiro & Sidon FPSO is a partially converted vessel that was previously owned by Petroprod Ltd. and was acquired by Jurong Shipyard Pte. Ltd. ABS Consulting conducted a large number of safety studies (comprising all the FSA aspects of an UK HSE offshore safety case) and additional studies (HAZID, HAZOP, QRA) in accordance with Petrobras GTD/safety philosophy requirements. ABS Group provides objective and reliable advice that clients can depend on. Acting on behalf of asset owners, we confirm manufacturing and construction quality and monitor factory acceptance tests.

6 Maersk Oil Process Safety, Asset Integrity and Culture Review of Offshore Facilities class maintenance support, management of technical aspects of platform modifications, engineering services, production of new manuals and drawings and training. Leading a joint Maersk Oil/ABS Consulting team, ABS Consulting evaluated the process safety program effectiveness and culture at Maersk Oil s three offshore E&P operating regions in Denmark, Qatar and the United Kingdom. This review involved four-week visits to each region and included process safety technical reviews on 15 offshore platforms and FPSOs, conducting targeted interviews of Maersk Oil offshore, onshore and corporate personnel. A process safety culture survey was also conducted. Analysis of the company s health in the area of process safety, management systems and culture identified areas that needed to be addressed. Once ABS Consulting s recommendations were in place, the client received global top-quartile performance in process safety. Toyota Tsusho New Construction of Two Jackup Drilling Rigs at PPL Shipyard Petrobras Integrated Management of Marine Offshore Engineering Activities for Petrobras Floating Units (GIEN) Since June 2002, ABS Consulting has provided support for activities related to 19 Petrobras floating offshore units (FPSOs, semi-submersibles and jackups), 13 of which are production units and the remaining six are drilling units. ABS Consulting continues to provide the following services for this project: updating of drawings and technical files, development of numerical models (for structure, stability, hydrodynamics and mooring), emergency rapid response, Working on behalf of the financial investor for this project, ABS Consulting formed a project team of 21 professionals of various disciplines, led by a project manager, to execute the project on behalf of the owners. With the primary focus on quality and scheduling, the team performed an engineering review, construction supervision, witness factory acceptance test and delivery and handover support.
