1 BEAM Click-to-Dial Setup Guide Natural Convergence (Vaspian) Click-to-Dial Configuration From the BEAM navigation bar click on General Settings. Then click on the Click-to-Dial tab from the Organization Settings menu: Out-Dial Prefix: This is the number collection agents must dial to get an outside line and dial tone. Since BEAM hands the system a 10-digit national number, you want to include the "1" as shown above. So 81 would be correct as opposed to just 8. For example, when clicking the Call button for telephone number (716) , BEAM dials , just like you would if you were manually dialing that telephone number. Login URL: This should be the URL of the Vaspian web portal: If you go to and click on Manage My Account you should be redirected to this URL. Tenant: This is your customer name in Vaspian s system and is known by the Vaspian web portal. The Tenant will typically be your customer name with the first letter in each word of the company name capitalized.

2 Note: your Tenant name is case sensitive. i.e.) CompanyName You can obtain this at any time from the Vaspian support department. It is referenced by the term "Login URL" in our systems. Note: You must have the PIN filled out in the User Settings. BEAM uses the PIN to automatically log into Vaspian for the collection agent. Without the PIN users will get errors. When a new Vaspian user is created a corresponding Vaspian PIN is created for them. New users are prompted to change their PIN when they log into the phone for the first time. Test here for proper login using the ext. and PIN. If a PIN reset is needed, please call Vaspian (716) or support@vaspian.com. Error Messages: If you have not properly configured your Click-to-Dial settings you may see this error message pop up 2 P a g e

3 Check to be sure that you re Login URL is correctly entered. You MUST include the forward slash (/) at the end of the URL or you will get this message. Hostname: This is the hostname or IP address of your Asterisk server. BEAM will attempt to connect to the Asterisk Management Interface (AMI) on this machine to initiate Click-to-Dial requests. Your Asterisk-based Providers must allow dc1.beamorgs.net and dc2.beamorgs.net as the originating IP address for connections from BEAM to your hosted VoIP phone system. AMI Username: This is the username setup on your Asterisk server. AMI Password: This is the password setup in on your Asterisk server. Elastix Click-to-Dial Configuration 4 P a g e

5 Navigate to your Asterisk File Editor, this will only be available to administrators. In Elastix, this can be found under PBX -> Tools -> Asterisk File Editor. We will be editing a manager.conf file, usually manager_additional.conf is a good place to add this entry. Add an entry for the Click-to-Dial AMI manager: [c2d] secret = c2d deny= / permit= / read = originate write = originate The user name is in brackets. In the above example the user name is [c2d] and the password comes after the word secret, so the password in this case is c2d. You will need to change the permit entry to match your network IP range and subnet. This is important because you must permit all network addresses that BEAM Click-to-Dial will be called from like your collection agent workstations or any VPN networks. Save the file when you are done making changes and reload the Asterisk manager configuration. 5 P a g e

6 Setting up in BEAM Users Click-to-Dial agents will need to have their extension identified in BEAM. Click on General Settings in the BEAM Bar and then choose the Users tab. Double-click on the individual User whose configuration you want to change. Click the Edit button and enter the Asterisk extension in the corresponding Ext: field Ext: 100 in the example below. This will need to be done for each collection agent that will have Click-to-Dial access. Click-to-Dial In General Settings, click on the Click-to-Dial tab and pick Asterisk from the Click-to-Dial Provider drop-down menu. Fill in the details and click Save Settings Out-Dial Prefix: This prepends a number (or numbers) to the phone number to be dialed, for example you might put a 9 or 5 in this to reach the outside line. Hostname: This is the hostname or IP address of your Asterisk server. BEAM will attempt to connect to the Asterisk Management Interface (AMI) on this machine to initiate click-to-dial requests. AMI Username: This is the username we setup earlier in the manager_additional.conf file on your Asterisk server. 8 The Provider name does not have to be an exact match. Windows looks for the Provider name to contain what is entered into the Click-to-Dial configuration window in BEAM. For example: if your office phone system is Avaya IP Office you can enter IP Office in BEAM and it will match on the first TAPI provider with IP Office in the Provider name. 6. You must add (install) the appropriate corresponding TAPI driver on each workstation. 7. In BEAM, the Provider name is the name of your telephony Provider. 8 P a g e
