4 Overview of the Award BIRD L5 Advanced Diploma in Business Management & Strategy is tailored to provide learners with an understanding of analytical and functional skills required in Business Management roles. It also outlines the strategic concepts necessary for management levels and aims to develop a holistic and creative approach among learners towards business organisations while analysing, planning, directing, controlling, evaluating and formulating business strategies. The qualification includes six mandatory units. In order to be awarded this diploma, participants must successfully pass all six units. The single diploma should be studied over a twelve-month period (24 months for integrated diploma) if the applicant meets its entry requirements. 6 2 years work experience Guidance Material BIRD s extended syllabus and study guideline include a list of books and journals for learners to study on. Additionally, learners should collect BIRD s specimen coursework and/or examination papers from their study centres. Registered learners can download these from BIRD Website after logging in. Delivery From April 2012 Assessment Written examinations to be held four times a year or written assignment containing 3000 words on each module to be assessed internally and verified externally Quality Control All coursework is internally marked but externally moderated. All examination papers are externally set, marked and moderated.
