1 EPB Managed Wi-Fi Creating Social Media Apps with AirTight Guest Manager EPB s Managed Wi-Fi solution allows you to create social media integration with your new guest manager. This functionality allows your customers to use social media channels to log into your Wi-Fi network directly from Facebook and Twitter. Configuration Flow for Social Wi-Fi Figure 1 shows the workflow for configuring Wi-Fi access using a social media login. Step 1 and steps 3 to 7 are performed in AirTight Guest Manager. Step 2 is performed on the web sites of the specific social media. Step 8 is performed in the AirTight Management Console. This application note describes step 2 in detail. Add App ID/unique key to Portal 4. Add Portal 6. Customize Portal Bundle 5. Configure Portal Every social media channel uses different terminologies for app IDs and keys. Table 1 lists and describes the terminologies used by Facebook and Twitter. 2 Creating a Facebook Login App 1. From your web browser, go to the Facebook Developers website ( and register as a developer. You can find the registration prompt under the My Apps tab at the top of the page. 2. Once registered, click My Apps and then Add a New App 3. Click advanced setup in the Add a New App screen 4. Enter a display name for your app, select the Category as Business, and then click Create App ID 5. Complete the security check 6. Click Settings on the left pane and then click + Add Platform on the Basic tab Technical assistance is available all day, every day. Call , option 6

3 7. Click Website on the Select Platform window 8. Enter the Airtight Guest Manager URL under App Domains and Site URL and a valid Contact on the Basic tab, and then click Save Changes 9. To make the app live, click Status & Review on the left pane, click the No switch on the right pane to make it Yes, and then click Confirm.

4 10. Click App Details on the left pane, and provide the Long Description, Privacy Policy URL, Terms of Service URL, and User Support On the same page, scroll down and upload an App Icon and then click Save Changes.

5 12. Click Status & Review on the left pane, and then click Start a Submission. A pop-up window is displayed. Note: If you want to fetch the guest user s likes, location, and birthday from their Facebook profile, then you must select these options in the next step and submit the app for approval. This information will not be passed on to the AirTight Guest Manager unless the app is approved by Facebook. The guest user s address and basic profile information, which consists of the first name, last name, gender, and profile picture URL, can be fetched without having to obtain an approval for the Facebook app.

6 13. Select the items you want to include in the submission and then click Add Items 14. For each item selected, click Add Notes and provide information on how you are using the item during the in-app experience. Also add at least 4 screenshots of how you are using Facebook in your app, and then click Submit for Review.

7 15. Click Dashboard on the left pane and then click Show to see the App secret. You might be prompted to enter the password for your account. The green colored dot next to the the app name indicates that the app is live. 16. Log in to the AirTight Guest Manager, and add the app ID and app secret provided by Facebook in the Facebook plugin of your portal.

8 Creating a Twitter Login App 1. Log into Twitter s App Developers website ( twitter.com/) with your twitter handle. 2. Click Create New App 3. Provide the following details: Name: A name for the application Description: A short description of the application Website: URL for the Website from which the application will be accessed. This is the URL of the AirTight Guest Manager Callback URL: The URL to which Twitter must redirect on successful authentication. This URL will be as follows: <AirTight Guest Manager URL>/plugin/twitter/auth Note: The <AirTight Guest Manager URL> is the URL provided to you by AirTight. For example: 4. Read and accept the Developer Agreement and click Create your Twitter application. 5. On clicking Create your Twitter application, the consumer key and secret is granted and the app becomes live.

9 6. Click the Keys and Access Tokens tab to obtain the Consumer Key and Secret. 7. Log into the AirTight Guest Manager portal to add the Consumer Key and Secret.
