2 ABOUT School of Business Administration & Social Sciences The Department of Business Administration is akin to produce professionals suitable for the emerging needs of the market. We strongly believe that the educational environment, curriculum and teaching methodologies must lead to instilment of ethical and moral values coherent with the cultural and religious norms of our society. To achieve these objectives, the programs offered by the Department of Business Administration place a strong emphasis on ethical values. The Business Administration Department offers an array of different programs which includes PhD, MS, MBA (1.5 Year), MBA (3.5 Years), BBA (Honors), BS-Mass Communication and Media Studies, and BS-Economics programs. In an era of globalization, the need of business education is vital for the success of any business. 7 BS-MASS COMMUNICATION & MEDIA STUDIES 125 BACHELOR OF MASS COMMUNICATION & MEDIA STUDIES BS-MCMS (4-Years) M ūÿň ÿà À Ôň ÕÀˇ ň and Media Studies is designed to give students the knowledge needed to become effective, informed, strategic and ethical mass communicators regardless of the medium. The Mass Communication and Media Studies is essentially an emerging program which would consist of 46 courses and an internship project with a total of 137 credit hours. This program covers four main elements. First it would focus on the main subject necessary for mass communication and media studies. The second element covers the subject of other relevant courses from variety of fields such as economics, sociology and statistics etc. The third element covers specialized courses of mass communication and media studies. There will be a fall and spring semester in each year. The maximum duration to complete MBA (1.5 year) in Management Sciences is 4 years. The main purpose of this program is to bring close integration between theory and practice which may be a helpful hand in the support of the corporate sector. Every single course has been purposely prepared to cater for the present and future business needs. It offers considerable options to students, thereby adequately preparing them for a variety of careers in both public and private sectors. The specialization courses allow students to focus on the functional areas of their choice and seek broader knowledge in Marketing, Finance and Human Resource Management. The PhD program requirement is 48 credit hours, which includes a minimum of 18 credit hours of course work and MS-MANAGEMENT SCIENCES There will be a fall and spring semester in each year. The maximum duration to complete MS in management Sciences is 4 years. The objective of this program is to introduce students with the culture of research. The courses in this program are intentionally designed in such a manner that student can understand the nature of research and its appropriate models. The theoretical part of this program would help the student to understand the theoretical part and later on apply it in their research.
