2 The Institute of Atmospheric Sciences and Climate of the National Research Council is the largest Institute in this field of science operating within the Earth and Environment Department (DTA). Over 80 permanent scientists (over 200 in total) work in the Institute whose headquarter is located in Bologna while other six branches are spread over the Country. 8 Research activities related to solar and infrared radiometry n Measurement and modeling of atmospheric aerosols and clouds radiative forcings n Moon photometry and indirect aerosol radiative forcing n Solar energy production: : an internal working group of modelers (ISAC BOLAM and MOLOCH) and experimental scientists has been estabilshed to provide innovative contributions to this area of research n Innovation and technology: u ISAC-MPP mobile platform spectro-photometer photometer (will join the Italian network for spectral irradiance monitoriong managed by RSE, with ENEA, ENEL, and many research institutions). Partecipation to the 4 International Spectroradiometer and Broadband intercomparison managed by Wim Zaaiman (ISPRA) at INTA (Madrid). u UV radiometry (UV-RAD) u Automatic levelling platform for sea buoy radiometric observations u All-sky camera and ground camera, and automatic systems for the measurements of albedo and BRDF. u Lidar system u GASCOD (DOAS system)
