3 Sensational Umbria is the title of Steve McCurry s 100 pictures project for the Regione Umbria. Images of a land rich in time, past and present, experienced through the eyes of this great contemporary interpreter. As part of the branding activity of the Regione Umbria, the project Sensational Umbria communicates the values and content of culture, territorial quality, artisan crafts and industrial creations inspired by the history and culture of the territory. Umbria Trade Agency support regional economy in commercial and industrial internationalization providing business consultancy, macroeconomic data and information on foreign markets in custom legislation, European and extra-ue countries legislation and jurisprudence, start up and internationalization financing sources, opportunities on international market, EU marking, statistic import/export, commercial data and commercial issues, analysis of new markets, plan penetration; search and matching local entrepreneurs with buyers/business partners abroad. In the finest documentary tradition, Steve captures the essence of human struggle and joy. His work spans conflicts, vanishing cultures, ancient traditions and contemporary culture alike yet always retains the human element that made his celebrated image of the Afghan Girl such a powerful image. McCurry has been recognized with some of the most prestigious awards in the industry, including the Robert Capa Gold Medal, National Press Photographers Award, and an unprecedented four first prize awards from the World Press Photo contest, to name a few.
