1 Fruit Design Company Profile Fruit Design Company Profile We are a dynamic, award winning company who have a passion for designing web sites. Fruit was established over 4 years ago by Chris Fildes and Danny Lane who both have extensive experience in their respective fields through numerous collaborations. Fruit is committed to producing highly professional sites using cutting edge technologies. Our objective is to not just to meet our clients expectations and requirements but to exceed them - always. We have a simple, friendly and straightforward approach to delivering projects. We believe in working closely with clients to ensure we meet their requirements. Using a tried and tested project management system for websites which delivers tangible work in phases, we make the best use of our clients time and are flexible enough to meet their needs.

2 The Fruit Design Team Chris Fildes Chris career begun at Cambridge Technology Partners where as a Senior Developer he worked on various international clients. After going freelance, he worked as a developer for American Investment Group, A & L Goodbody, Intuition Publishing, National Car Test Service and the National Educational Welfare Board. He has also worked for the award winning SoftCo on their flagship SoftCo Web 7 product, used globally by companies such as DHL & Vodafone. Chris has responsibility for the development of FruitBox our Content Management System as well as integrating it into client sites. His main technical skills are ASP.NET, SqlServer & JQuery, as well as numerous other programming languages and applications. Chris is now the Head Of Development for Fruit Design. Experience National Educational Welfare Board - Web Consultant ( ) This role involved the development of a Case Management System for Educational Welfare Officers to manage their case loads/notes. The role also involved advising and supporting existing and future web development. National Car Test Service - Web Consultant (2005) The National Car Test Service required a web application to be created to allow all Car Test Centre s to have access to motoring technical manuals. Chris designed, developed and rolled out this system. He also maintained the company website and trained staff in its use. SoftCo Ltd - Senior Web Developer ( ) Chris was one half of the Front-End Development Team for SoftCo Web 7, a web based document management system used by large international clients such as Vodafone, DHL, AVIS and HBOS. Freelance - Web Designer (2001) Chris traveled around Australia in 2001, but continued to work in web. He designed websites for a major financial company and a business to business telephone company. He also trained staff in these organizations in maintaining websites. Intuition Publishing Ltd - Senior Web Developer ( ) During this period, Chris designed a brand new web-interface for a financial training website used by many leading financial institutes. A & L Goodbody Ltd - Web Consultant ( ) As well as looking after their website ongoing updates, Chris also developed a comprehensive web strategy for one of Ireland s leading law firms, and presented it to key senior solicitors, managers and board members. Cambridge Technology Partners - Web Developer Senior Web Developer ( ) While in Cambridge Technology Partners, Chris worked on a major redesign of Swissair s website, developing one of the worlds first ever online customer seat booking system. He also worked on web design projects for Air Miles and Abbey National.

3 The Fruit Design Team Danny Lane A graduate of the National College of Art and Design in Dublin, Danny has worked as an in house graphic and web designer for several companies, including SoftCo, Eireann Publications and KPMG. He has also produced numerous projects for clients on a freelance basis. His range of work is extensive and include magazines, promotional material, corporate identities and also the design of numerous websites. Danny has responsibility for our creative direction including the design of all of our web and print work. His main skills are HTML, CSS, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe InDesign as well as many other print and web design tools. Danny is now the Head Of Design for Fruit Design. Experience KPMG Graphic Designer (2006) KPMG is a world leader in the financial market. As part of the Internal Marketing department Danny was involved in the creation of collateral, adverts, brochures and invites for both internal and external use. Freelance - Web Designer ( ) For the last 5 years Danny has been involved in the design of several projects, developing various corporate identities and websites ranging from community to media organisations. Eireann Publications Graphic and Web Designer ( ) Eireann is a leading Irish publisher with particular experience in magazine, identity, print and promotion design. Within the design studio Danny was involved in the design of several titles as well as creating solutions for projects involving Aventis, Fresenius Kabi and AstraZeneca, from conception through to finished product. O Neills Sportswear - Graphic Designer ( ) As part of in the internal design team at O Neills, a leading manufacturer of sports teamwear, Danny gained valuable knowledge and experience in many aspects of design and print with all print work being done inhouse. SoftCo Ltd - Web and Graphic Designer ( ) SoftCo is a document management and ebusiness company which has dealings with many blue chip clients. While working there Danny was responsible for several web projects for external clients including Bank of Ireland and Eircom as well as a range of print design and corporate/product identity work.

4 Our Work Clients We have a wide range of clients across many sectors such as Education, Medicine and Entertainment. Some of these are listed below. National Parents Council Primary present NPC was the first client of the initial version of FruitBox. They use it to simply update their content on a regular basis. The site is updated by administrative staff within the organisation on a regular basis with news, press releases, reports and publications. Medical Independent present Medical Independent is a fortnightly publication aimed at medical professionals. Their website is updated on a daily basis by in-house journalists who have been trained by us in using FruitBox. The system is so simple to use that they are able to quickly train up any new members of staff in about half an hour into using it. Movies.ie 2008-present Movies.ie is dedicated to exclusive news and features relating to all things Hollywood for an Irish audience. The site is updated several times a day by the publication editor and journalists on it s sister magazine. It was crucial the site was easy enough to update quickly and easily by people with a busy schedule. Winner of 2010 Best Entertainment Site, Irish Web Awards. Dublin Youth Theatre 2010-present Dublin Youth Theatre offers quality arts experiences for young people aged who live in the Dublin area and is open to all young people regardless of nationality, faith, race or financial circumstances. There site needed to appeal to both a youth audience, but also to parents and needed to be updatable by admin staff in their office with no web skills. Paper Republic 2009-present Paper Republic specialise in beautiful wedding and corporate stationery. They needed a website that should showcase their wide variety of products along with detailed information in an easily accessible way that was easy to update.

9 Our Work FruitBox Content Management System What Is FruitBox CMS? FruitBox is a powerful, yet easy to use Content Management System for updating your website that is used by many clients across different sectors in Ireland/ We have developed FruitBox over several years, constantly adding new functionality based upon common client requirements and new developments on the web. Although it s a bespoke system it s built on top of widely used, secure, stable and scalable web frameworks and database technology. Who Can Use It? It has been designed so that anyone who can use a web browser and has booked a flight, used or a social networking site to learn how to use it within minutes. Who is Using It? The application is used in dozens of Irish sites such as Movies.ie, Medical Independent, National Parents Council, BeLonGTo Youth & Our Lady s Hospice Light Up A Life Christmas website. What Do People Think? Here are selection of comments from people currently using the system. FruitBox allows us to update our website very easily, there is no need to have a knowledge of HTML, it is as easy as cut and paste or you can just type as you would in a word document. It is very user friendly as everything is compartmentalised and easy to access when editing/updating. If there are any questions the support team at Fruit are always on hand to help. 10 Our Work FruitBox Content Management System What Can It Do? FruitBox allows the site to be maintained via simple forms that a user has to fill in to add and amend Content. For instance, this could involve editing an About Us page, adding News stories and Blog posts and creating image galleries. If you want items to only appear after a certain time you can use the Timed Content facility to set a date and time. Image Galleries can be uploaded and resized automatically at the click of a mouse or you can simply automatically add in a gallery from your Flickr account if you have one! You can attach Downloadable Materials such as PDF s & Office Documents. Our Video Player allows you to embed video from YouTube, Vimeo and many other video providers. You can simply create an Events Calendar you just add in events and FruitBox will automatically add them in, and archive old events without you needing to do anything! Blogs can be included with ease and you can allow visitors to comment either anonymously or when logged in. The Membership system allows you to create sections of the site, or functions, that only logged in users can access. You can also create Groups of users too and create a Mailing List with ease! FruitBox helps with your SEO by allowing keywords, page titles and descriptions to be edited with ease, which help search engines index them correctly. Rotating Banner ads can easily be integrated into spots throughout the site (and fully support Flash, Javascript or just plain HTML adverts.) A Feedback Form is included in all sites, allowing visitors to send in feedback or questions to the site owners through an online form. The form can be setup so the user can pick which Department or Person to send the feedback to. Technical Details FruitBox has been built using powerful, tried and tested industry standard software that allow the software to be extended and maintained by a very large base of developers worldwide. The application is built on top of Microsoft s ASP.NET Framework for web development used in tens of thousands of websites internationally. This includes a secure Membership system. ASP.NET allows FruitBox sites to be easily integrated into other Microsoft Applications such as Sharepoint, Office and Outlook. All content is stored in a Microsoft SQL Server database, that can grow from the smallest business website to large social networking sites with hundreds or thousands of users It has an API (Application Programmers Interface) to allow FruitBox sites to be easily extended by other ASP.NET Developers. FruitBox also has built in functionality to interface with many other websites such as Twitter, Google Maps, YouTube and Flickr and (a FaceBook interface is also in development.)
