You will receive an invoice for each Ingram order, as well as a statement at the first of each month listing all unpaid invoices. When a discrepancy occurs in shipments, please pay the total invoiced amount within the stated terms. Deductions made because of overstock returns can result in delayed shipments. Ingram maintains it is the responsibility of each international client to determine if the importation of a title from Ingram is restricted by any copyright or distribution laws in the client s country. *Any product with a retail value of less than $3.00 USD is considered a low price-point item, and if ordered in quantities of less than 5 will receive a 20% discount. Orders of 5 or more of these items will receive standard trade discounts. Overstock returns on any low price point product will be credited at 50% off the retail value, our standard returns policy.

3 Delivery Programs Canada Ingram offers rapid, efficient delivery to Canadian booksellers. Ingram offers: all charges are prepaid books are cleared through customs and delivered to your door shipments from the Indiana and Tennessee warehouses twice per week to Eastern Canada shipments from the Oregon and Tennessee warehouses twice per week to Western Canada Delivery times are dependent on province and warehouse assignment. All shipping charges are calculated as a percentage of total product cost dependent on your province. All invoice charges are in U.S. dollars. Our data service options can save you from dedicating staff to collect and aggregate data from multiple publishers that do not use the same format for providing data. The service provides a series of files each in a proprietary format. You would access and download these proprietary files from an FTP server maintained by us. The data elements found in these files provide booksellers and librarians with the raw data needed to populate an Internet presence or in-store reference/point-of-sale (POS, ILS) system. Metadata is provided weekly and is typically in a text file format as fixed width or variable length. Primary bibliographic files are supplied in full or as deltas each week to assist with your processing. Is the Data Services FTP a good option for you? 10 DATA SERVICES FTP DATA PACKAGES PACKAGE Essential DESCRIPTION This package includes all the main bibliographic data, up to 3 BISAC subject category designations, product descriptions, and images in the jpeg 400 pixel resolution. Bibliographic and Classification consists of reference type data elements to include physical attributes as well as identifying characteristics like author, publisher, subject, etc. Images are book cover images available in the jpeg 400 pixel resolution. Our overall coverage is over 90%. Product Descriptions include annotation and publisher marketing information. Annotations are product descriptions gathered from several sources, primarily within Ingram. The publicity and other time-sensitive information are removed, leaving a brief description of the item. Publisher Marketing Information consists of descriptive copy that appears in publisher catalogs and flyers. Jacket Descriptions are available for full database subscribers. Jacket description provides the product description printed on the jacket flap and back. Enhanced This package includes everything in the Essential Data Package plus family, themes, and the desirability ranking. Family data is proprietary to Ingram and represents the same intellectual property of work, but in different formats (e.g. paperback, hardcover, audio, etc) allowing you to offer works with the other formats option. Themes data allows you to link titles with a common theme to feature timely promotions around a cultural, demographic, geographical, historical, or seasonal type of theme to name a few. Desire What s hot? What s not? This file provides a desirability ranking based on sales and demand history for Ingram s top-selling items. Enriched Logistics, awards, citations, and contributors fall under the Enriched Data package. These files provide enhanced information related to the product, etc. to facilitate buying decisions. Logistics provides data that is related to title management processes, e.g., Country of Origin, Harmonized codes, Carton quantity, Barcode on product indicator, and title dimensions (weight). Awards contains an exhaustive listing of awarding winning titles for various genres in the book, music and video industries from around the world including major awards like the National Book Award, Pulitzer Prize, American Music Awards, Parents Choice, and many others. Citations contains where a work has been cited or appeared in a variety of print and online sources (e.g. newspaper, magazine, or journal). Contributor contains detailed information about the product contributors such as hometown, date of birth, a short narrative about the contributor, and an indicator code and description of the role of each contributor. Examples - Author, Editor, Illustrator, and Reader. These packages represent our standard full, slice, and custom FTP data service options. Cost Online retailers pay an initial setup fee of $2,000 and monthly fees begin at $200. The monthly fee will vary depending on usage. Integration Subscribers create an application to post query requests using Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP) or HTTP. Ingram returns results in XML for subscribers to format and display on their website. The web service also offers the ability to have the results sorted by data elements, including the popularity of the title. Development time to the Web Service API is typically a smaller window due to the ease in using an API application. The search queries are essentially already built. Your web developer will write code to determine which search options to use and pass the values to the API. Search results are returned in XML. The knowledge of writing queries to a web service and/or an API and parsing results from XML to build a website will be needed to use this service. 12 Programs STanding Orders Managing your inventory of U.S. titles is easy with Ingram s Standing Order Programs. By customizing a standing-order profile to fit your needs, new, forthcoming titles can be automatically ordered and shipped to you without having to spend a lot of time browsing catalogs. Titles are usually backordered two to three months before their release, and you have the flexibility to change your order any time before it is shipped. Standing Order Reports To facilitate your standing order process, you will receive these reports: Master Profile This report lists everything that you currently have on standing order. Backorder Report This cumulative report is updated monthly, allowing you to make adjustments to your standing orders, if necessary. 14 iselect Streamline your selection process and never miss a forthcoming title with Ingram s iselect program. Your customers want new titles as soon as they are available. Ingram s iselect Program assists you in selecting the types of new titles appropriate for your store and gets them to you fast. The iselect program is based on Ingram s buying level of pre-publication titles. You select the categories and indicate the levels you want to see. Then, when Ingram makes a purchase of a forthcoming title at your pre-determined level, you are notified. The iselect program is fully customizable to meet the needs and interests of your store. If you only want to see the hottest titles in certain categories, you can. If you only wish to see new titles by certain publishers, you can do that, too. With iselect, it s easy! Here s how iselect works: 1. Sign up for iselect on the Programs and Catalogs tab of ipage. 2. Create your customized profiles for hardcover, trade paperback, mass-market paperback, and spoken word audio. Each profile lists the different subject categories, based on BISAC, such as Biography & Autobiography, House & Home, Juvenile Fiction, etc. 3. Within each profile, you will indicate the number of copies you want in a particular subject based on Ingram s buying patterns. 15 RETURNS POLICY FOR CUSTOMERS OUTSIDE THE U.S.A. Before returning any product to Ingram, please contact Customer Service to determine return eligibility and the proper procedure for returning product. Ingram categorizes returns as either Hassle Free (Damaged/Defective/Shipped in error) or Overstock Returns (Excess inventory), and a different returns process exists for each type. Please always indicate in your correspondence what type of return is desired. ii.customer.service@ingramcontent.com Phone: Ext Fax: Attention: Returnability Report Request Hassle Free: Damaged/Defective/Shipped in Error/Missing Items Items that are received damaged or shipped in error must be reported to Ingram Customer Service within 30 days of receipt of the shipment. Defective product (pages/chapters missing; pages printed upside down, etc.) may be reported at any time. Customer Service will require the following information in order to determine the disposition of the goods: Your Shipping Account Number Order number EAN Title Type of damage / problem Value of goods Quantity & Weight Number of skids or cartons If Customer Service determines the shipment must be returned to Ingram, Ingram will arrange for carrier pickup and co-ordinate with the given contact at the origin store or facility. If Ingram instructions are not followed or Ingram s designated carrier is not used for the shipment, then documentation will not be provided for the shipment to be cleared under Ingram, nor will Ingram be responsible for any fees or fines associated with the shipment. All cartons returned for damage, defects or shipped in error should be marked HSF for crediting. Claims for lost orders should reference your invoice number, Ingram is not liable for lost orders shipped by uninsured Parcel or Book Post, or once your freight forwarder has signed for the order. Overstock Returns Eligibility All titles stocked by Ingram are eligible for return unless designated as non-returnable and are in resalable condition. Non-returnable titles are identified on Ingram data feeds and ipage. For Overstock returns over 100 units, please contact customer service to have the titles pre-screened for eligibility. Total returns may not exceed 10% of purchases made during the previous 12 months. Ingram will process the returns and issue a credit memo to the bookseller s account. Deductions may not be made by the bookseller.

16 Overstock Returns Overstock returns will be credited at 50% off the retail price for standard discount books. Short discount books will be credited at 10% less than the invoiced price. Mass market titles (designated by a P department code) are to be stripped and only the covers returned. Failure to strip the covers will result in a processing fee of up to $.10 per unit. Publishers require that stripped books be destroyed. Hard covers designated by R and Quality Paperbacks designated by a Q in the Ingram database must NEVER have their covers or title pages stripped and must be returned complete. Calendars and other dated materials have unique return limitations or due dates because of publisher restrictions. Calendars are NOT strippable. The use of the Ingram overstock returns form and special returns label, available through Customer Service, and via ipage, highlight your shipment as a return, thus expediting the processing of your return and insuring proper credit to your account. Cartons for Overstock returns should be marked OVS for crediting. Ingram reserves the right to return all unacceptable returns, or products in non-salable condition, books beyond the publishers return date or purchased non-returnable. These will be returned at the bookseller s expense, or Ingram to dispose of the product with no credit due and a $2.00 per unit handling fee. Shipping Arrangements for Overstock Returns Customers must make arrangements with their carrier and/or freight forwarder for door to door transportation service back to Ingram in Chambersburg, PA, and are responsible for all customs documentation to import goods into the US. Your Carrier or Forwarder can provide guidance on necessary customs documentation and US import requirements, including US customs broker assignment, proper invoicing, and gaining a customs assign number enabling a foreign entity to import to the US on a single shipment basis. All shipping charges must be prepaid by the customer.
