Hosting is like renting a house. It is where your website and/or s are operated from. What type of hosting do I need? Each business is different therefore we try to put each client on the best value hosting plan for their requirements. What is bandwidth? Bandwidth is the amount of website/ s traffic your account uses. For example, a website with a lot of customer traffic or a websites lots of images/video/pages etc will use more bandwidth than one without. s and attachments are also part of your bandwidth so if you send a lot of s or with big attachments, this uses a lot more bandwidth. What is space? Every website takes up space. The bigger the website, the more images, the more products, the bigger the website space needs to be. 2 Why is Location Important? The geographical location of your server is very important for three reasons 1) Data Integrity and Privacy for example, if you are an Australian business, your data must be kept in Australia inside Australian data centres 2) Search Engines the recent search engine algorithm updates put a larger emphasis on geographical locations of the website hosting and so if you are an East Coast based business, your website should be hosted on an East Coast based server. 3) Speed the closer you and your customers are to your website server, the faster the hosting experience for them. This impacts search engine results too. What is Monitoring? 4 Unmanaged hosting is a shared hosting service. This means your data is hosted on a server with other clients. Concise Creative will monitor (24x7) and manage the server, network and firewall but will not be able to provide free technical support for website/ /technical difficulties. Unmanaged hosting does not include backups. If something happens to your data, if it is hacked, corrupted or deleted, it will be lost. If data & reliability is important we highly recommend choosing our managed hosting service. Managed hosting is also a shared hosting service however Concise Creative manages all aspects of server management including backups. We include a daily two stage backup (one onsite, one offsite) and is stored for 7 days. In addition, if we host a Concise Creative built website, managed hosting includes ongoing software updates. If high performance and data security is important, we highly recommend our dedicated hosting services. Dedicated hosting is a dedicated VPS server for your exclusive use. Concise Creative will setup, monitor, manage and maintain the server, network, firewall and infrastructure. We include a daily two stage backup (one onsite, one offsite) and is stored for 7 days. Dedicated hosting provides two distinct advantages over shared hosting. 1) Ability to host multiple websites/domains on the same server and 2) Dedicated resources that can be scaled on demand which is required by high traffic or system intensive websites. 5 What are the contracted/payment terms? Website hosting is charged monthly by direct debit, paid in advance or annually by invoice, paid in advance. All invoices are automatically generated on the renewal date. Payments are made by direct debit Any new hosting account that starts between the 15th and the 31st of the month will be automatically invoiced and direct debited on the 1st of the month. Any new hosting account that starts between the 1st and the 14th of the month, will be automatically invoiced and direct debited on the 15th of the month. You must complete a direct debit authorisation form with all new hosting accounts. In the event of a declined payment, you will be contacted by our accounts department If your hosting account remains outstanding for more than 30 days, your hosting services will be automatically suspended until the invoice has been settled. 6 What are your charges if my request is not covered by my package? Refer to our hourly rates pricelist available from our website. We do not charge to identify the issue nor will we charge if we can refer you to a guide, manual or video that will help you resolve the issue yourself. What is the quickest way to get support? Contact your local licensee with as much information as possible about the issue. What can I do to avoid contacting you? Technology changes daily so to ensure your website is running the latest software and to avoid any potential attack, virus or downtime, we recommend you sign up for our website maintenance and patching service.
