5 Name of realization: Castelir Suite Hotel Type of construction: Exclusive hotel Place of realization: Panchià, Fiemme Valley, Trento Woods used: Brushed white oiled aged larch Name of the designer: Architect Paolo Facchini A dream cherished for 14 years, a place to find wellness and calm, surrounded by the silence of untouched nature, a place to leave only desiring to come back. Seven suites named with different types of wood surrounding the Castelir, materials selected by the criteria of short chain and biocompatibility, because the well-being intended to be - includes only natural products. No exception for the floor: a strong and rustic character wooden floor, which matches perfectly also with a modern style and on which the signs of aging does not affect the functionality, making even more warm and cosy the spaces dedicated to the guests. 5

Old-looking walnut oiled oak Name of the designer: Diesel Creative Team Welcome to Breganze, province of Vicenza, at the new headquarters of Diesel, opened in September 2010 after five years of work and being proud to have achieved the Class A energy certification: a record for a building of these dimensions. Oak for 35 thousand square meters, identified among about 200 sample degrees to find the desired shade in line with the character of the company, an important and quite rare choice for the offices, but strongly required for a technical reason, since the designers are working on the ground for several hours and since a preference for wood as material was at the base of the project. 7

9 Name of realization: Loft Type of construction: Private residency Place of realization: Firenze Woods used: Dark thermowood natural oiled oak Name of the designer: Architect Giacomo Spezza We are in the center of Florence, a space that was originally used as a workshop of a silk factory and only later converted for residential purposes. An aesthetic redevelopment project for a loft that is characterized by the wideness of the volumes, by the light and the informal feature, by raw materials and shades of grey and brown that were perfect for the realization of a townhouse equipped with all the comforts but at the same time young and fresh. The unifying element of the entire flat? The floor, a choice without fail by the property who whished a dark wooden floor, wide size and above all treated with natural oils. 9

11 Name of realization: Galleria dello Scudo Type of construction: Art Gallery Place of realization: Verona Woods used: Knot-free brushed white oiled oak Name of the designer: Architect Paolo Baldessari Founded in 1968, the Galleria dello Scudo is one of the historical exhibition gallery of the Italian scenery, an area of over 200 square meters that lodges exhibitions of modern and contemporary art. The requirement of a makeover that can suit the exhibition standard of contemporary art has created the opportunity to rethink and reorganize the spaces, creating a wide-ranging walk in which the most significant choice is the floor, where long boards can offer a sense of continuity, permeating all the architectural steps between a room and the other and thanks to the absence of the skirting, replaced by a two centimeters recessed baseboard, it confers to the rooms a special effect of lightness. 11

13 Name of realization: Apartment Type of construction: Private residency Place of realization: Trento Woods used: Natural anthracite oiled ash Name of the designer: Architect Michela Baldessari The framework of the flat reminds something of Franciscan, with an evocative cloister that welcomes you in a surprising way as far as climbing the stairs of the entrance of the eighteenth century palace, a noble first floor among many buildings of the historic centre. The continuity through the living area and the sleeping area, with a large terrace, is enhanced by the lay of wide wooden boards that run in the same direction both inside and outside; an extreme strictness and cleanliness in line with the choice of using two only elegant but modern materials, as the ash and the chalk, has created a contemporary and fresh image for an high-impact result. 13

Massimo Cont Just entered it seems to be in a country in Northern Europe, where kindergartens are designed and suitable for children, with lots of wood and natural materials that gives a completely different flavor to the place where parents usually leave children during the day. We are instead in Besenello, a few kilometers far from Trento, in a gem of 1200 square meters that lodges a hundred of children and that tastes of good, of healthy and serenity. An high performance floor, which is practical and durable even in a daily lived by children room, happy to play barefoot on the wood. 15

17 Name of realization: Old Farmhouse Type of construction: Private residency Place of realization: Grottammare, Ascoli Piceno Woods used: Planed variegated gold oiled oak Name of the designer: Architect Sandro Mariani To choose this place, long time ago, have been rough and experienced hands, able to find a fruitful ground, sunny, far from busy roads and characterized by mild temperatures. What until 2007 was a farm building now turned into a delightful cottage, thanks to a complex restoration project and the arrangement of new living spaces: friendly places widely lived by homeowners, who love to be surrounded by friends and family, welcoming them on a precious floor, uneven and treated by hand, which contribute very well to reproduce the historical idea of wooden planks used in the parts of the ancient noble history of Marche. 17

Mariolina Kirn The renovation project was not simple: a very big house, divided on three levels, composed by a series of linked spaces those were meant to be allocated, expanded and harmonized; each smallest detail has been followed in a concrete and depth way and the long research to identify a living, biocompatible and healthy product has led the customer to the choice of a floor on which to rely, for characteristics of modernity and practicality, on stability over time and robustness. A single floor suitable for all rooms, bathrooms and kitchen included: spaces well lived and in absolute freedom thanks to the easy cleaning guaranteed by the oil treatment. 19

21 Name of realization: Intesa Sanpaolo Superflash Store Type of construction: Bank branch Place of realization: Milano Woods used: Long knotty brushed transparent oiled oak Name of the designer: Architectural Group amdl An innovative project, unique in the world in the field of credit institutions: Store Superflash of Intesa Sanpaolo Bank in Milan and with openings foreseen in the major Italian cities. 570 square meters, an open space steadily animated by initiatives for young people, events and moments of live music and cultural events. Dominating the scene is the floor, lightened by spotlights theater, located from time to time in places that need attention, and chosen in wide long boards, from 4 to 5 meters: a charming warmth even on these sizes, almost industrial, that emphasizes the width of the spaces. 21

23 Name of realization: Old Farmhouse Type of construction: Private residency Place of realization: Torri del Benaco, Verona Woods used: First cut natural oiled spruce Name of the designer: Marco Berteotti An ancient ruin wisely restored, where time seems to have stopped a hundred years ago: there are clearly visible all the imperfections and signs of aging, but as all the ideas long cradled and caressed with strength in mind, the result is stunning for style, beauty, sophistication and for the energy that issue a rustic but at the same time elegant ambience.400 square meters of wooden floor released on boards of different lengths and widths, held in an harmonious and continuous flow, which infuses peace and tranquility to its guests. 23
