Washington School Grade 1 To develop cohesive chapter units for Go Math Room 8 Washington School Grade 2 To plan and differentiate Chapter 2 of Go Math Room 10 Washington School Grade 3 Complete SGO's for the school year and Room 5 collaborate on Unit 2 & 3 Go Math lessons and assessment. Washington School Grade 5 To collect and gather materials for our upcoming nonfiction unit of study in reading. To create lesson Room 304 plans based on the TC suggestions for this unit. Washington School Basic Skills Team To gain further knowledge of the new Go Math program and resources, and Leveled Literacy program and resources. (Purple System) Wilson Primary Center Shire, Clamser Overarching goal is to target objectives, which support both social skill development, and strengthening of Approaches to Learning. We plan to select 3 4 objectives that we know to be challenges for members of our population. These are priorities for long- term success of our students. We plan to design a developmentally appropriate continuum of what the developing skills look like in the school setting. JPC/WPC Kindergarten Staff Teachers will evaluate and analyze student data, including formal and informal assessments from writing, reading, and math scores, and use this data to create SGO's. Elementary School Counselors School Counselors To maintain current relationships and make new connections with local community- based services in and around Summit Public Schools for the purpose of referring families to local agencies and planning speakers and workshops for counseling dept. programs. 6 High School Physical Science and Middle School 8th Grade Science teachers Physical Science and 8th grade Science teachers MS teachers teaching chemistry and physics topics for the first time will get a chance to interact with experienced chemistry and physics teachers. They will also be able to make connections with teachers in the HS should they need content support. HS teachers will become more aware of the 8 th grade experience that should help support the transition of students to a high school science class. When not meeting with the MS staff HS teachers will be aligning SGO assessments with NGSS. Room 302 and 332 High School Mathematics Mathematics Dept. Objectives include: 1) completion of the SGO process, 2) plans to implement the use of the Chrome books in the mathematics classroom, 3) working within PLCs to maintain excellence in all mathematics courses, and 4) continuing the transition to Google sites and classrooms. High School Social Studies Social Studies Staff To determine specific assessments/measures for SGO writing; to establish targets for students in each group being measured. Fine, Performing & Practical Arts K- 12 FPPA Staff To learn and be able to apply the new National Arts Standards and to be able to integrate these and the current NJCCS into curriculum development, unit planning and horizontal and vertical Arts integration. 7 K- 12 District Nurses Cattano, Fay, McDonald, Hollerbach, Mendez, Uzzolino, Bishop, Zanelli To increase the knowledge, skill, comfort and confidence of nurses when working with issues related to mental health. Districtwide CST Child Study Team 1) To increase knowledge level of the use of Excel in Google Docs. 2) To review draft of Suicidal Ideation Protocol and finalize document. 3) To develop a formula for CST use in determining discrepancy when considering if a child is eligible under the category- Specific Learning Disability. 4) To increase knowledge level of a community- based counseling resource, Imagine, by visiting their site in Westfield. Speech Specialists Speech Team 1) The advent of the Common Core Standards (CCS) presents an opportunity for SLPs to engage in guided collaboration with teachers. We will learn the SLP s role in unpacking the CCS through chunking, pacing, and sequencing. Two tools for collaboration that assist the SLP within the framework of CCS are presented: Socratic questioning and Bloom s Wheel. These methods encourage SLPs and Teachers to gear their educational planning towards higher order thinking skills, which is one of the main goals of CCS. 2) An overview of the Communication portion of the Battelle Developmental Inventory will be discussed. Therapists will learn and practice test administration, and manual and online scoring. 3) We will discuss TBI/concussions and how students are: impacted during an evaluation conducted by the CST, frequent difficulties they might encounter in the school environment, and treatment strategies that can be implemented (in the ideal world). 4) Establish department and individual PIP goals. 5)Expand understanding of Selective Mutism, a social anxiety disorder.
