The bonus was the bull moose sightings on two days. My Canon SX50 is phenomenal with the 50X Zoom. The pictures is from about 40 yards. Dave Gellatly, Northwind Sales and Marketing, representing Sage rods and Rio lines, provided an opportunity to test out the product lines of each company. We were able to compare an array of rods and lines. Dave showed us how to cast over 90 feet, amazing. 4 Orvis Madison Presents: Our 1 st Annual Madison Carpocalypse Fly Fishing Carp Tourney Friday and Saturday Sept 13 th - 14 th Entry Fee: $25.00 Donation to Trout Unlimited for a local stream project. Friday Night Kickoff Event: Early Registration begins at 6 p.m. followed by Carp on the Fly Presented by: Dan Frasier of Carp Pro Magazine Saturday registration begins at 10 am. Fish all day within the limits of Dane County, then return to the store by 5 p.m. for: Food, Beverages, Music and Prizes. Prizes awarded for Largest, Smallest, and Ugliest Fish. 5 Next Meeting: September 23 rd Smallmouth/Muskie floats on a fly Todd Polacek Todd has been involved in water and fish his whole life both personally and professionally. He has a degree in Limnology & Fisheries from UW-Stevens Point and was a Fisheries Researcher at the USFWS (Fish and Wildlife Service). Following agency work, he owned and operated a full-service independent fly shop, Madison Outfitters from where he took the lead role planning, supervising guides and carrying out 100 annual bookings and coordinated and taught fly-casting courses and wing-shooting schools.
