An outstanding group of individuals from SCC were in attendance and included the CIC Chair, Craig Rutan, Articulation Officer, Leonor Aguilera, Academic Senate President, Corinna Evett, and Support Services Assistant, Tiffany Garbis. The new Program and Course Approval Handbook (PCAH) is out; it includes non credit and is available at the newly redesigned Chancellor s Office website at: Due to the redesign you may find that many of your hyperlinks are broken and will have to be remapped. Visit the Academic Senate Curriculum Website for updated curriculum information at A change to Board Policy 6117 which eliminates the routing of courses to both colleges, Santa Ana College (SAC) and Santiago Canyon College (SCC), will not take effect until Spring This will change the way that CurricUNET works as shared proposals would have to be removed from the system and rerouted. Due to the busy fall semester the spring will allow ample time to tackle this project. The Curriculum Institute will take place at the Sheraton Park in Anaheim in July Regional Curriculum meetings will take place in the Fall at Chafee College and in the Spring. Please notify Craig if you are interested in attending or are considering serving as Chair of the Curriculum and Instruction Council. The Accreditation Institute for the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges will take place in February. Craig Rutan served on a group to create an Accountability Reporting for Community Colleges (ARCC) scorecard which shows how the college compares against itself, whether it is improving or declining in specific areas. The first draft is due in 2013 to the Chief Instructional Officers (CIOs). SCC was chosen for the 8 th annual On Course National Conference that will take place on April 26 and 27, 2013 in Costa Mesa. Faculty volunteers are needed. The U.S. Department of Energy Solar Decathlon in which teams design and build energy efficient houses powered by the sun will be held October 3 13, 2013 at Orange County Great Park in Irvine. Please contact Regina Lamourelle if you would like further information. Regina Lamourelle will be presenting in Washington at the annual Teacher of the Year honoring Pre K through College educators. Anyone wishing to have a Career Technical Education (CTE) program approved by the Chancellors Office please contact Corine Doughty to obtain any necessary forms and paperwork.
