4 Technologies for a variety of applications PASS Access The upass Access is a cost effective reader that uses passive UHF technology (EPC Gen II) for fast and convenient people access to secured buildings, sections and rooms. The upass Access is applicable in many situations because of its small size: 15 cm height x 5 cm width x 4 cm depth. It will even fit on most doorposts. This reader enables a read range of up to 2 meters (6 feet). The upass Access reader is used in combination with UHF cards and combi cards that combine UHF with common card technology, like HID, Legic and MIFARE. TRANSIT Entry This robust reader, based on semi-active RFID technology, has been specifically designed to perform in situations where a reliable long read range is essential. The TRANSIT Entry supports reading distances of up to 4 meters (12 feet) with specifically designed Nedap compact tags. Featuring a weatherproof and slim designed housing, the TRANSIT Entry reader makes a perfect fit to any door at warehouses, loading docks, parking and gated communities. To support a mixed population of cards and tags, the optional MTR Module also enables short range reading of common proximity access control cards (HID, MIFARE). 5 Combining building access control with vehicle identification Except solutions that create people flow in and around buildings, Nedap AVI offers also systems that contribute to the smooth and secure flow of vehicles. Nedap is currently the only manufacturer that offers integrated solutions for vehicle access and building entrance. This option is available for both our passive (upass) and semi-active (TRANSIT) system. With the driver-based vehicle access solutions from Nedap AVI you can choose to use to authorize the driver, the car or even vehicle and driver combinations. Several options are available: TRANSIT compact tags Users carry a compact tag that can be applied in the vehicle with a card holder. The compact tags are read by TRANSIT Standard (for vehicles, 7m read range) and TRANSIT Entry (for people, max. 4m read range). TRANSIT Booster2G Users carry a common access control card. Vehicles are equipped with a Booster2G in which the access control card can be inserted. The Booster2G reads the card and send the card ID (driver) and Booster2G ID (vehicle) to the TRANSIT Standard reader (10m read range). The driver takes the card out of the car intro the building for conventional access control. Users can optionally carry a UHF combi card and inside the building upass Access readers can be installed at entrances that need to support a longer read range. PASS reach Dual!D Users carry UHF cards or UHF combi cards. Cars are equipped with a Dual!D Card Holder in which an UHF card or UHF combi card can be inserted. Only when the upass Reach reader at the parking entrance sees a valid Dual!D Card Holder it will start reading the access control card (4m read range). Inside the building upass Access readers can be used to read the UHF cards (up to 2m read range).
