19 Outlook My Vision I see strong GAW WDCs as the core set of archives, serving a growing user base with growing demands I see other data centers that are relevant to GAW strong enough to co exist serving special communities I see an increasing demand for user friendly access to specialized information lost in a plethora of Google hits I see a WMO Information System that needs standardized access to metadata I see a need for GAW to reach out, yet maintain an identity of its own I see GAWSIS serving this future Description of sites, measurement programs, contacts Co location of sites, clearing house for IDs Cross referencing of observed variables Interface to WIS One way of discovering and accessing data [email protected], GAW2009, 5 7 May 2009, WMO, Geneva 18

24 GAWSIS Open Issues Status of EMEP, NADP, EANET vis a vis GAW(SIS) to what extent should these networks be included? If they are contributing networks, they should be included!
