3 The strategic analysis, prepared by AT Kearney, identified eight target sectors to attract foreign investors The following activities were completed: Analyses of the structure of the Bulgarian economy and global business trends Development of a concept for a national strategy for promoting Bulgaria as an investment destination There were identified the following target sectors: Machine building Electronics and Electrical engineering Chemistry Food and agriculture Transport and Logistics Information technology Business process outsourcing Healthcare and medical tourism Materials were developed to support potential investors: Database of companies in Bulgaria by regions and economic sectors Presentations for the target sectors In January 2013, AT Kearney updated the strategic analysis of the Bulgarian economy and the overview of trends in FDI in South-East Europe. Organizing of five journalistic tours in Bulgaria thematically linked with the 8 priority sectors from the strategic analysis. At each tour participate 12 journalists, representatives of leading TV, printed and electronic media from the European Union, the USA, Russia, China, Japan, Turkey and Korea. Currently, the last journalistic tour is held, which is focused on the healthcare sector, medical tourism and balneology. Page 11
