How to get started with fleeping in Fleep? Fleep is a messaging app that works with . First and foremost, it s meant for people to whom the speed and effectiveness of communication is as important as the choice that they THEMSELVES could choose when and with whom they wish to communicate with. You can use Fleep on different devices: in a web browser, on a smartphone (iphone, Android), in a desktop application on your computer (Mac, Windows), as well as on a tablet (ipad, Android tablets). Simply pick your favorite platforms and download Fleep from - your conversations will be synced on different devices! Fleeping is an activity where you engage in a conversation using Fleep software. It doesn t matter if it s sending an outgoing from Fleep or conversing with another Fleep user. How to start a new conversation in Fleep? There are a few ways for starting a new conversation. The easiest one is to click on the + New Conversation button in the Fleep interface. A pop-up will show up, prompting you to add people to the conversation. You can start a conversation with almost anyone! If you want to converse with a person that is already using Fleep, you need to know their Fleep ID (address that ends example: katheriin@fleep.io). If you wish to start a conversation with someone who hasn t signed up to Fleep (yet), all you need to do is add their address. When you ve selected the members of the conversation, it s time to pick a topic for your conversation. By default, the conversation topic will be made up of all the members names or addresses. This can easily be changed by clicking on the topic, typing in a more suitable topic and clicking Enter! Now you re all set to start your first conversation - write your first message and push SEND! All of your conversations are accessible from the left pane using the button All Conversations or by simply following the incoming messages on the left pane. 30 of your most recent conversations are always visible on the left pane under the collapsible label Recent. The name of the conversation will activate (read: light up in orange) whenever there are unread messages.
First steps in Fleep (things you should take care of in your account profile) In a way, Fleep is a very universal tool. It allows you to communicate with others one-toone, in groups as well as via . So, it s excellent for synchronous as well as asynchronous communication. To ensure that Fleep will be the most efficient and useful tool for your work or personal communication, you should first take care of a few things in your account profile. Account profile You can access your account profile details by clicking on the small triangle right next to your avatar on the bottom-left corner of Fleep. This will open up a new pop-up where you should choose Account settings. Here, you can edit the most important bits: Avatar upload a photo so people can see who they re talking to. Name so that others would know who that James or Mary is and wouldn t need to check the address in your profile to validate that. Fleep ID your unique identifier in the Fleep network and also your address for all incoming and outgoing messages. Works for forwarding all your s into Fleep, too! Fleep ID is also a required to use feature in conversations. addresses the addresses visible here are: the one you used to signed up, and all the alternatives you have listed. Alternative s are for people with several personas (work, personal, own domain etc). When you add an alternative address, Fleep will link your account to whoever wishes to contact you in Fleep instead of sending their messages as s to your mailbox. signature Get creative, this is included at the bottom of all of your outgoing s. Password here, you can change your password if necessary.
Fleep and endless conversations Fleep was built for conversations, not for sending endless s back and forth (although you can do that as well!). Conversations can happen privately one-to-one or between many people as group conversations. And if you get lonely, you can also hold conversations with yourself (Monologue with myself). The latter, by the way, is extremely useful to keep a daily to-do list or to mark down notes to self! What can I do with conversations and what can I find there? You can do different things with conversations. Once you ve started a conversation, you can find all the action-items in a little drop-down menu this will appear when you click on the small triangle in the top-right corner of the conversation. It will look like this: Mark read/unread does exactly what it says. For those moments when you wish to quickly mark something read or unread (so you don t forget to come back to it later on). Star/Unstar This will raise the priority of the conversation. Also, by adding a Star to the conversation it will be placed on the top of the leftpane conversation list where it s always visible. Mute You can mute a conversation when you no longer wish to get alerts about messages in that conversation. You can choose to mute the notifications for an hour, a day, a week or forever. Clone This is the easiest way to create a new conversation with the same set of members but a different topic. This works both for one-to-one as well as group conversations. Archive if you choose to archive a conversation it will be marked as archived and filed away to your archived conversations group (visible in the All conversations list). Edit labels labels allow you to organize your conversations. You can add labels to all conversations and they will appear on the left pane as label groups. Delete conversations that are deleted are forever gone from the system. Unless the members that were part of it include you again, in which case you won t see any of the history. Conversation settings When you re in a conversation, you can see a little gear icon on the right-pane tab list. If you click on it, you ll find all the tools you need to manage your conversation, including the option to Leave this conversation, conversation Sharing, Link previews in the conversation and Conversation , which is helpful if you wish to send some stuff into a specific Fleep conversation from outside of Fleep!
What can you do in Fleep? Fleep is a collaboration tool and at the same time a brilliant tool for work we have merged different capabilities into one tool. It helps you work together with your team as well as manage projects with ease. It s important to know that every participant of a Fleep conversation has equal rights. Everyone can add or remove members as well as add, remove or edit files (photos or documents), create and share tasks and mark the most important comments or make notes on the conversation Pinboard. But let s have a closer look at the right-pane tabs and what they re for: Search this is the easiest one to explain. Search allows you to find lost bits of information. It really doesn t matter if you ve lost a file, Pinboard notes, the content of a conversation or forgotten the topic of a conversation. Search will help you find all of these things! Pinboard behind the thumbtack icon you ll find Pinboard, which is the place where all the important bits and pieces of information can be pinned to. It s great for easy access to meeting notes or checklists, as everyone in the conversation can see, edit or delete the pins on the Pinboard. Equal rights, remember? :) File Drawer the paperclip designates the file drawer, where you ll find all the files that have been shared in the conversation. They re stored in the cloud and available from any device to all the members of the conversation. Every Fleep conversation can hold up to 5GB of files (for a free users) or more (up to 50GB for Premium users). Tasks this is one of the newest additions to Fleep. It will make your project and task management a lot easier. Any message shared in the conversation can be turned into a task. You can add sections to your conversation tasklist (e.g. To Do, In Progress, Done). Once the tasks are finished, you can just mark them done and archive them. They ll be stored within the conversation and can be searched for later on too. Tasks can be assigned to oneself or other conversation members. Conversation settings everything related to conversation management and sharing can be found here. Help under Help, you ll see a summary of all the different text formatting tips, chat commands and keyboard shortcuts. In addition to that you ll find the button for Fleep Support chat (in-client) as well as the link to Fleep Knowledgebase (external website).
Fleep as replacement or add-on Since Fleep is a collaboration tool that s built to be -compatible, we embrace all incoming s (be it from Outlook, Gmail or Thunderbird and what not). Similar to this, you could easily use Fleep to replace all your current tools and start forwarding s into Fleep (using Fleep ID). At first it might feel odd to send out s from and receive s to Fleep, but if you take some time and get acquainted with Fleep, then this might be the beginning of a new habit for you. Anyone can move over to Fleep whenever they wish to, even if the people you collaborate with on daily basis don t bother to do it. s still go out and look like s to them. (With the exception of the default signature: Sent from Fleep. Learn more at but you can change that, too!) You can easily customize your signature from Account settings > signature and why not get creative with it! How about I ve sent this from Fleep cause I m from the future! Join me: To us, it makes little difference if the recipient of the is already a Fleep user or not. However, if you re uncertain whether the other person is a Fleep user then you can easily find it out once you ve added them to your conversations. participants have in front of their name and on their avatar. How can I send s from Fleep? You start the same way as with a normal conversation, a click on the + New Conversation. Then insert the address into the conversation as a member and a new conversation is created. However, this is a little different than the regular conversation because before you send your messages you re prompted to insert an Subject and include a message together with it (the content). s without a subject or messages can end up in other person s spam-folder and we wouldn t want that, would we? Furthermore, it s just polite to include both of them. Now, before you send off your freshly created , check for typos* and then hit SEND! See, there it went, that wasn t so hard, was it? :) *Actually, you also have 30 seconds after clicking SEND to edit the s content! Just hit the upwards arrow or find Edit from the message s drop-down menu and make your edits.
