3 APPLICATIONS TECHNOLOGY AND USER EXPERIENCE The technologies used by Oracle Applications are part of its success. The applications are designed from the ground-up, leveraging Oracle's latest technology advances in Fusion Middleware and the Oracle Database. They ensure that the applications are 100 percent open standards-based, allowing a new standard for users to innovate, work and adopt technology. EXTENSIBILITY While Oracle Applications provide robust out-of-the-box functionality, enabling customization of the user experience is a top priority. Implementers and process owners are given extensive and easy-to-use tools to allow comprehensive re-branding, customization, and extension. Oracle provides you with a common set of tools that enable you to make these customizations using browser-based components, and then easily migrate them from one Oracle Applications environment to another. Some highlights: You can rebrand the delivered interface to include your company s unique logo and application name. You can make page-by-page customizations, such as hiding or showing fields, adding new fields, making fields required, and moving fields around on a page. You can customize the Navigator menu. To learn more about all available extensibility tools, see the Oracle Fusion Applications extensibility guides. CRM APPLICATION COMPOSER CUSTOMIZATION LAYERS Satisfy the needs of specific users with targeted customizations when the business demands it. Oracle s technology now supports parallel multiple experiences. When using CRM Application Composer select the layer of users to enjoy custom functionality: All site users All internal or external users Users of a specific role SIMPLIFIED UI STRUCTURE CUSTOMIZATION Customize the structure of work areas or how they appear in the springboard. Using the Structure page in the Settings work area: Hide or show work areas, or modify the order in which they appear Hide or show pages, or modify the order of the corresponding tabs 3
4 Change names, headers and sub-headers Enable the social panel in the welcome springboard SIMPLIFIED UI STRUCTURE CUSTOMIZATION: SANDBOX SUPPORT Take advantage of sandboxes to test structure changes in the simplified UI. Activate a sandbox before you make a change; then using Structure UI move things around, change labels as needed, hide or show pages, and verify your changes. When ready, publish the sandbox to have the changes take effect for users of your simplified user experience. SIMPLIFIED UI EXTENSION: USING CRM APPLICATION COMPOSER Use CRM Application Composer to enhance the simplified user experience. Beyond the desktop interface, new application objects and pages as well as completely new work areas can now be created in the simplified UI for Sales Cloud. Using the Structure page in Settings you can then find the new pages or work areas, enable them for end users, and put them in the order desired. SIMPLIFIED UI EXTENSION: USING RESOURCE CATALOG CONTENT Using Page Composer, enhance the simplified user experience in specific areas, using the same components available for embedding in the desktop UI, including reports, task flows, and other components available in the Resource Catalog. UI TEXT EDITOR Adapt Applications text to your company industry and culture by including your own glossary and terms. In addition to the previously available coverage for page, table, menu, and button labels and messages, in any installed language, the Browser Based Text Editor now includes search and replace strings for global menus, Oracle Business Intelligence, and Oracle Enterprise Scheduler. USER EXPERIENCE At Oracle, delivering products that reflect a superior user experience is the result of an enormous investment. This results from countless hours spent examining how people like you actually work and use our enterprise applications to understand your pain points. We then work closely with product management, 4
5 strategy, and development to design innovative applications that help you to be more productive, efficient, and effective. Oracle s focus on providing an exceptional user experience pervades Oracle Applications. Nowhere is it more apparent than in the simplified user interface. SOCIAL PANEL IN SIMPLIFIED UI Efficiently manage interactions with a social panel on the simplified home page powered by Oracle Social Network. View your social profile, including a portrait linked to HCM, your followers, and conversations you started or were invited to. Accelerate access to topics that are the highest priority for your work, since conversations are tied to application objects such as Sales deals and opportunities, HCM candidates, or ERP ledgers. Launch a new conversation or view and drill down to your conversation categories, or conversations flagged for your attention. Social Panel in Simplified UI 5
6 GLOBAL SEARCH IN SIMPLIFIED UI Provide a fresh user experience with the new Global Search in the simplified user interface. Enjoy an expandable search box, slide-out search filter based on search categories, and smooth navigation. Search results displayed in the same pleasing manner allow for navigation to other work areas, and drill down to item detail. Global Search filter ANALYTICS IN SIMPLIFIED UI Access the Analytics work area in the simplified UI to view insightful information in a clean, modern UI. The same level of security applies to these reports as it does in the underlying business intelligence platform, while hiding the complexity and the folder structure of the platform. With the intuitive, friendly UI you can easily: Understand your analytics with views that are simple, direct, and highly visual Change views to see analytics in list or chart views Find reports using advanced search functions Share reports with team members via Mark reports as favorites A flavor of this interface is also available with the new Analytics in Oracle Sales Cloud Mobile, where you can scroll through various reports by simply swiping left or right on your mobile device. 6
7 Simplified UI analytics: complex data at a glance GETTING STARTED CONTENT Support the first time user s experience with videos in the Getting Started work area, available right from the springboard in the simplified home page. Accelerate on-boarding with highly polished content and videos that are included with the product, for an expedient and smooth learning experience. This content is also available through Applications Help. Getting Started can be customized with content applicable to your company as formatted HTML or even YouTube videos, see below for more information. 7

9 Editing or creating new Getting Started content ORACLE VOICE FOR SALES MOBILE APPLICATION Embrace the vision of a voice-enabled enterprise. Oracle Voice provides sales representatives and managers fun and quick speech-based access to critical information while on the go, and the ability to use voice commands to enter important updates to Sales data before details are forgotten. Encourage content updates when management is usually starved for this type of information. Download the application from the Apple App Store for your iphone, or from Google Play for your Android device. 9

Oracle Voice for Sales A GLIMPSE OF UX HARMONIZATION FOR SEAMLESS INTEGRATION Oracle is developing and driving its plans forward for harmonizing the user experience across our Applications Cloud when it comes to acquisitions. Get a fantastic view of how seamless this is by looking at the HCM Cloud integration of Taleo, in the HCM Cloud Hiring module. You will notice that the line between HCM Cloud and Taleo does not exist, it s one unified user experience. Oracle has focused in this area of highest need first, but expect to see more UX harmonization work in future releases. 10
11 A unified user experience with Taleo in HCM Cloud APPLICATIONS HELP Oracle Applications Help delivers extensive content to supplement embedded materials, including FAQs, examples, demos, and essays. You can click help icons throughout the applications to open a window for assistance relevant to the current page. Links to open the help app with content relevant to the current business process activity are also available. Within the help app users can search or browse business process and product-based resources. Help content is extensible and customizable. APPLICATIONS HELP FACELIFT Streamline your access to help content with the new face of Applications Help. A simplified design and a new skin applied to the home page, search and topic detail offer an inviting experience when searching for assistance. The new background image can be replaced within help setup. 11
