2 Qbamax LED is a compact, rectangular floodlight using white or coloured LEDs to light façades and architectural features efficiently and effectively. The combination of high power LEDs and control technology provides a multiplicity of fixed or colour changing effects, while three different optics - from spot to flood - guarantees maximum precision. Qbamax LED offers numerous advantages: Qbamax LED is an ideal floodlight to highlight architectural features and decorative areas, it produces accurate lighting and colour effects without wasteful spillage onto surrounding details. The appearance of Qbamax LED is similar to Qba products, so Qbamax LED floodlighting can easily be combined with Qba luminaires in existing installations or new projects. Aesthetic and simple design Available in 2 different wattages (45W / 65W) IP65 rating Wide choice of monochromatic versions with saturated colours: warm white (3000K), cold white (5500K), red, green, blue, amber RGB version for dynamic colour changes via DMX control Available in 3 beam angles 15 /30 /45 Uniquely designed mounting brackets offer angular adjustment for façade lighting Visor avoids glare light Integral driver Extremely low power consumption and long operating life Low installation and maintenance costs Performance: Visual Effectiveness The highly uniform and precisely controlled floodlight beam allows designers to create lighting scenes revealing features and patterns of the lit object. Various options for different lighting requirements include R/ G/B/A and white 3000K/5500K version for monochromatic colour, as well as mixed RGB version. Efficiency: Use of energy LEDs offer a long operating life as well as good energy efficiency, therefore extending maintenance cycles and reducing cost of ownership. The intensive collimated lenses and optical attachment ensure that there is no waste illumination. Comfort: RGB LEDs combined with dynamic mixing allow variety in the lit scene, from a calm and relaxing atmosphere to a lively, slimulating environment. No glare due to optimised visor. 2

DMX Addressing For lighting effects, the RGB versions require a DMX control system. This is not supplied and has to be ordered separately. DMX addresses have to be assigned to these luminaires. 5 Qbamax LED Matching the LED system to the application LED performance data should not be used to judge the performance of a luminaire as there are so many other factors to consider: Even using highest quality LEDs, performance could be impaired by inadequate thermal management, optical control, driver current, ambient temperatures and even cleaning cycles. Output of LEDs fades over time and whilst 70% of initial light output (L70) as a marker of the effective lifespan for general outdoor LED lighting application. Temperature and current Two decisive factores contribute to the life and light output of an LED luminaire: temperature and current. The primary cause of lumen depreciation is heat generated at the LED Junction (Tj), which is affected by three factors: ambient temperature, drive current and thermal path. The data chart for Qbamax LED shows that, at 50 C ambient temperature and 70% of the maintained flux, the life of the luminaire is 70,000 hrs,the lifespan of luminaire relating to operating environment,so Thorn supplies the necessary support to match the performance according to the local average night ambient temperature. Driving the LED at a higher current will increase light output, but there is a trade-off: heat increases, thus reducing life expectancy, Qbamax LED operates at 350mA (45W) and 500mA(65W) based on its own technical design. As LEDs do not emit heat as infrared radiation (IR), the heat must be removed from the device by conduction or convection. without adequate heat sinking or ventilation, the device temperature will rise, and continuous high temperature operation will cause permanent reduction in light output and premature lifetimes. Qbamax LED uses a superior heat sink design to dissipate heat, maintain a low junction temperature and provide expected light output, life and colour. 5
