3 Our Mission Use Aston Villa Football Club as a vehicle to impact on local people, neighbourhoods and communities by addressing key local priorities. We will work towards this in three main ways: Delivering a portfolio of projects and interventions across our four strategic themes Collaborate and work in partnership with other organisations and key stakeholders to maximise available resources, expertise and impact Being proactive in strengthening our relationships in the local community 23/01/2017 3

4 Identifying Local Need Ranked as 6 th most deprived local authority in the country 40% of population living in 10% most deprived SOAs in the country 53% White British, 47% other ethnicity Life expectancy 7.6 years lower (men) in most deprived areas compared to least 64% of adults overweight 32% of adults inactive (35% want to do more) 24% of Year 6 pupils classed as obese Unemployment at 6.5% amongst over 16s (up to 1 in 4 in some wards) 15.6% of over 16s with no qualifications (nearly double national average) 14.9% of young people NEET in West Midlands 23/01/2017 4
