2 I. Introduction Accelerated programs (in which students receive two degrees, one undergraduate and one graduate, upon program completion) provide tangible benefits to eligible students. In the accelerated programs students Are exposed to rigous graduate-level courses Are engaged with faculty ments Participate in research opptunities as an undergraduate II. Eligibility Students may be admitted into an accelerated program by the Office of Enrollment Management upon admission on the basis of high-school recds and TSAT sces as matriculated students, by the college school on the basis of meeting the established criteria both within their college/school and the Office of Graduate Studies. In der to continue in the program, students are subject to the standards and policies of the Office of Graduate Studies and their college/school. III. Admission Infmation Students can be admitted to an accelerated degree program in one of two ways: 1. Provisional Admission of a New, Incoming Freshman Provisional admission into an accelerated program by the Office of Enrollment Management is based on students timely application to an accelerated degree program by December 1st of the application year pri to matriculation in fall of the subsequent year and academic profile (including High School GPA and TSAT). Admission is considered provisional until students achieve credits at which time their academic perfmance and program progression will be evaluated against college/school and Office of Graduate Studies criteria. Students are encouraged to review these criteria with their adviss. With the exception of those students admitted into the LeBow College of Business*: Students who successfully meet the University s standards f selection and are provisionally admitted by the Office of Enrollment Management will be considered candidates f the program as long as they maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00 and until they have reached no less than 90 credits and no me than 120 credits. Upon achieving credits it is the student s responsibility to codinate with his / her advis to complete the Accelerated Degree Program Application. 2

3 Provided the student meets the established GPA standard f program participation (usually a minimum of 3.00) and any other requirements established by the college/school at the time of his/her provisional admission, the candidate's application will be advanced by the college/school to the Office of Graduate Studies f confirmation that the candidate can continue in the program. 2. Provisional Admission of Matriculated Students Matriculated students may apply f provisional admission into an accelerated program in those programs f which such provision is allowable, accding to guidelines established by the college/school. Students who apply and meet the eligibility requirements of the college/school will be considered provisionally admitted. With the exception of those students seeking admission into the LeBow College of Business*: Students who successfully meet the University s standards f selection and are provisionally admitted by the Office of Enrollment Management will be considered candidates f the program as long as they maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00 and until they have reached no less than 90 credits and no me than 120 credits. Upon achieving credits it is the student s responsibility to codinate with his / her advis to complete the Accelerated Degree Program Application. Student applications will be reviewed to ensure that students meet both the cumulative GPA and maj/program GPA standards. Provided the student meets the established GPA standard f program participation (usually a minimum of 3.00) and any other requirements established by the college/school at the time of his/her provisional admission, the candidate's application will be advanced by the college/school to the Office of Graduate Studies f confirmation that the candidate can continue in the program. * Lebow College of Business LeBow College of Business Students provisionally admitted into the LeBow College of Business accelerated programs by the Office of Enrollment Management must verify their intent to continue in the program with their advis by the end of the spring term of their freshman year. Matriculated (continuing) students seeking admission to the LeBow College of Business accelerated programs must verify their intent to participate in the accelerated program by the end of the spring term in their first year of their freshman year. As with their counterparts in other colleges, it is the student s responsibility to codinate with his / her advis to complete the Accelerated Degree Program Application. 3

4 Provided the student meets the established GPA standard f program participation (usually a minimum of 3.00) and any other requirements established by the college/school at the time of his/her provisional admission, the candidate's application will be advanced by the college/school to the Office of Graduate Studies f confirmation that the candidate can continue in the program. IV. Program Progression Once the Office of Graduate Studies has officially accepted the student into an accelerated program, he she will progress accding to the program plan established (while maintaining the GPA requirements f continued participation) f his her designated accelerated program in the college/school as provided by the three options indicated below. These options establish the program plan f a student s reasonable progress in the accelerated program as well as the timeline f the accelerated program participant's conversion to graduate status. The three program plans are: A. 4 COP Accelerated Program Students in the 4 COP Accelerated Program will progress accding to the program plan established f the 4-year with coop undergraduate ( 4COP) program; it includes one 6-month cooperative education experience. Students in the 4COP accelerated program will maintain undergraduate status in the first four years of study, and convert to graduate status at the end of the spring term in the fourth (seni) year. Depending on the degree program, students in the 4COP program can have 1, 2 3 years of graduate status, (the 4COP +1), (the 4COP + 2) (the 4COP + 3) programs respectively. B. 5 COP Accelerated Program Students in the 5COP accelerated program will progress accding to the program plan established f the 5-year with coop undergraduate ( 5COP) program and maintain undergraduate status throughout. The 5COP program includes three 6-month cooperative education cycles. C. 3 Year 4COP Accelerated Program Students in the 3 year 4COP accelerated programs will progress accding to the program plan established f the 4COP program f the first three years of study. The 3-year 4COP program of study includes one 6-month cooperative education experience. Participants in the in the 3 year 4COP program will maintain undergraduate status in the first three years of study and convert to graduate status at the end of the spring term, in the third year of study. Students in this program can have 1, 2 3 years of graduate status, (the 3COP +1), (the 3COP + 2) (the 3COP + 3) programs respectively. 4

5 V. Financial Aid and Billing It is imptant to note that upon conversion to graduate status the student will be billed on a per credit basis as a graduate student, and will no longer be eligible f undergraduate level aid, including federal and institutional aid. F this reason, the Office of Graduate Studies will require that students exple the billing and financial aid impacts of the conversion to graduate status. VI. Additional Stipulations Students are required to fulfill the cooperative education experience(s) established by their program of study. Should a student appeal to waive a coop experience, and should that petition be granted, the student will be required to meet with a representative from Drexel Central to discuss any impact to billing. VII. Course Registration and Plan of Study Programs should be designed to limit the number of undergraduate courses completed during the graduate ption of an accelerated program. During this ption of a program, courses not at the seni level will require permission of the Office of Graduate Studies. VIII. Transcripts Courses completed while a student is coded as an undergraduate student, irrespective of course level, will appear on an undergraduate transcript and be computed in an undergraduate grade point average.
