2 Hillsborough Education Foundation Strategic Direction VISION Hillsborough County will be recognized for its excellent public schools and as a community committed to having every one of its students succeed. MISSION To engage business and community partners in support of Hillsborough County Public Schools and the academic achievement of all its students.
3 Collaborate: Provide leadership in achieving effective cooperation among all organizations committed to enhancing educational excellence for HCPS students. 1. Join with HCPS and other community partners in identifying and achieving the community s goals for student success. 2. Facilitate the development of and actively participate in an effective coordinating council of all community entities concerned with student success. 3. Establish effective collaborative relationships with organizations focused on economic development and workforce readiness. 4. Create partnerships with organizations at local, state and national levels that support innovations in teaching excellence and student achievement. 5. Regularly assess and attain high levels of effectiveness in partnering with others.
4 Complement: Support initiatives that enhance the ability of HCPS to enable each student to excel as a successful and responsible citizen. 1. Develop, execute and support advocacy and public policy agendas in support of public education. 2. Increase the Hillsborough community s support of college and career scholarships for all qualified HCPS students, i.e., Hillsborough Promise. 3. Develop, fund and manage programs that enhance HCPS students likelihood of graduating thus assisting the District in meeting its 90% graduation rate goal. 4. Ensure the effective recognition of HCPS students, teachers, administrators and support staff. 5. Facilitate teacher success in enriching student lives through the Teaching Tools store and other programs that narrow the critical gaps that exist in supporting public education.
5 Connect: To efficiently and effectively acquire and allocate community, state and other resources to program activities that efficiently and effectively enhance the educational experience for all HCPS students. 1. Attain $10 million of annual revenue by connecting the resources of businesses, foundations, and individuals who seek to enhance HCPS students achievement. 2. Define, establish and communicate to all key stakeholders a HEF brand identity that establishes HEF as the go to organization for support of Hillsborough County public schools. 3. Establish an active communications strategy and plan.
6 Continued Connect: To efficiently and effectively acquire and allocate community, state and other resources to program activities that efficiently and effectively enhance the educational experience for all HCPS students. 4. Establish metrics that objectively determine each HEF program s and fundraising activity s value in achieving its stated purpose; use those data to transparently communicate that value to donors; Institute an annual review process for comparing the value added of each program and fundraising activity to HEF s vision and mission. 5. Be recognized as the best in class K-12 education foundation in the U.S. by attaining role model performance levels in organizational efficiency and board level effectiveness among K-12 education foundations.
7 Create: Provide a means to research, review, and deliver innovative ideas and initiatives that enhance the educational experience and student success. 1. Dedicate HEF facilities for the discovery and sharing of creative educational ideas. 2. Establish a technology platform that enables external stakeholders to easily communicate with HEF and enhances the staff s efficiency and effectiveness in meeting those stakeholders expectations. 3. Establish a technology platform that enables the investigation, collection and sharing of innovative ideas with collaborating partners. 4. Develop and implement an ongoing systematic approach to staff development and organizational learning..
