2 Goals & Objective The major goal of the Institute is to impart a unique broad and interdisciplinary engineering education of highest academic quality. This is achieved through an integrated curriculum that consists of a diverse set of Engineering & Management courses, Industry oriented Projects & Trainings, Research Projects, Regular Interaction with Industry and Personality Development programme etc along with the objective to provide industrial exposure to engineering students to becoming a pivotal node in Industrial Research, Consultancy, Continuing Education for Industry. Quality Policy We, at Nagpur Institute of Technology, aspire to establish a system of Quality Assurance which would on a continuous basis evaluate and monitor the quality of education and training imparted at the Institute, improve the teaching-learning process and ultimately, develop the institute as a Centre of Excellence. The NIT has formulated the three point agenda to ensure overall development of the institute as: To achieve O % Failures. To enable university Topper in each semester in each branch. To ensure 100% placement for the incumbent final year student. Strategic Plan to achieve O % Failure through: Regular Practices through Home Assignments, Class Tests & Mid Term Examinations. Regular Interaction with Subject Teachers through Informal Classes. Personalized attention to each student through guardian teacher scheme. Series of Pre University Test to maintain competency level at University Examinations. Provision of Question bank with unique solutions and sorting out doubts through Informal Classes and crash courses. (It is relevant to mention that in the question papers for RTM Winter Examination 2010, 60% to 70% of questions have appeared from Question Banks & solutions (Ist Year, III & V Semesters) prepared by NIT Faculty.) Institute Industry Interactions NIT has laid emphasis on the cultivation of strong links with industry and promotion of various industrial activities by the faculty members and students to attract the various Industries and Institute & is open to accept their suggestions to meet industry needs. The teaching faculty gets sensitized to the latest practices leading them to blend practice with usual theoretical teaching methods and to work on various collaborative programmes. This has a great bearing on the Engineering Curriculum, exposure of industrial atmosphere to engineering students and subsequent placement of young graduating engineers in industries across the country. R&D Laboratories to be sponsored by industries at the Institute. To provide Practical training to students in industries. Research & Development Activities Our faculty and students are actively participating to carry out innovative and research oriented project work, relevant to industry. The faculty members are encouraged to attend/participate in seminars, conferences, short term courses and also present papers at Seminars and Conferences. The Faculty members publishing research papers in reputed referred international & national journals and presenting papers in conferences on continues basis. Training & Placement Activities A well-planned, systematic and active Training and Placement cell has been set up under a Senior Faculty with rich industrial experience, who directly guides the students in planning their career & facilitates their entry into the job market. The entire gamut of academic activities such as industry-academia interaction, guest lectures, corporate training, seminars, and workshops are organized from time to time for strengthening corporate relations. Organizes personality development, career guidance and counseling programmes for students so as to gear them up to take on the stiff competition in the corporate world. Organizes group discussions, mock interviews and aptitude tests from time to time to prepare the students for campus placement.
