2 Top-Slice Topics A topic sentence states the main idea of a paragraph. Read each paragraph below. Then, on the top bun, circle the topic sentence that names the subject and gives the main point of the paragraph. Topic sentences A. Sandwiches come in many forms. B. Sandwiches are good for lunch. Sandwiches can be oozing with peanut butter and jelly. They can also be stacked high with bologna and cheese. Some sandwiches are served hot with melted cheese and steak.
