Alpiq Infra AG is a general and full-service contractor for the integrated planning and implementation of complex technical systems for infrastructure, transport (road and rail), energy and industrial applications. Our core competences are customised, full-service solutions as well as expert project management for complex requirements. Our services Strategic planning Project planning and engineering Implementation Management Gotthard Base Tunnel The Gotthard Base Tunnel project managed by AlpTransit Gotthard AG represents a once-in-a-century rail tunnel equipment contract. The work is being carried out by a consortium led by Alpiq. On 4 May 2007, Alpiq was selected as general contractor to install the railway technology in the Gotthard Base Tunnel. The contract, worth CHF 1.7 billion, covers the planning, installation and commissioning of equipment for the 57-kilometer-long rail tunnel. The core task is to ensure the overall monitoring and coordination of all activities and contractors in this project for a railway tunnel through mount Gotthard. Work covers track and overhead line installation, railway security, rail and tunnel instrumentation and controls, telecommunications, power supply and sophisticated logistics.
