Landfill gas sold to local industrial customers instead of burning Incineration and more effective waste sorting 2013 Rusko Fell ski resort opened 2014 Municipal waste to landfill < 1.3%, ~13 kg per capita Utilized landfill gas: 25 GWh (equal to t CO 2 -eq.) City of Oulu 5th largest city in Finland Population Surface area 3,87 km2 Rusko Fell ski resort. Rusko Fell is an old landfill landscaped for recreational use. Landfill gas from the old landfill is still collected and utilized.

11 Esco procurement by the City of Vantaa Facts about the ESCO-procurement Energy efficiency of 14 buildings will be improved over the next eight years. The target of the contract period is to achieve savings of up to MWh in heat and electric energy. This means annual savings of over EUR in energy costs of the City of Vantaa. The project investment of EUR 1,5 million will not incur any costs to the City of Vantaa, but the costs will be covered with the savings produced by the project within the agreed time.
