1 Dress Code CLS believes that enforcing a dress code policy encourages children to dress in an appropriate manner for school that will enhance student success. Parents/guardians should work closely with the school to ensure their child s adherence to the standards of dress and grooming expected at CLS. Special Notes: All CLS uniform shirts will be red, white or black. Uniform shirts, jumpers, skorts and skirts must be purchased from Parker School Uniforms. Uniform shorts/pants and accessories may also be purchased from Parker School Uniforms. Shorts/pants may be purchased from area retail stores if they are purchased through the uniform section and match in both color and style. (i.e., JC Penney, Target and Academy). Students not in uniform will be required to change into an appropriate borrowed uniform which will be provided by the school. If nothing is available, parents will be contacted and children will wait in the office for the parent to bring the correct uniform. All students are required to purchase a red polo with logo to be worn on all field trips (exception: Pre K 2 nd jumpers are acceptable to meet this rule). All uniform shirts must be tucked in (exception: girls white blouse in grades 3-8). Shorts and pants must be pulled up on the waist. All jumpers, skorts, skirts and shorts must be no shorter than 2 above the knee. Pre K 2 nd : Shirt Options Red, white, or black dri-fit or cotton polo with logo, short sleeve or long sleeve White uniform Peter Pan collared shirt, short sleeve or long sleeve, to be worn with jumper only During cold weather, undershirts that are solid red, white or black can be worn under the school uniform shirt During cold weather, girls can wear a solid red, white or black turtleneck under the jumper as a uniform shirt Bottom Options Khaki uniform shorts or pants with or without elastic waistband (relaxed or pleated) Black uniform shorts or pants with or without elastic waistband (relaxed or pleated)

K 5 th : Any tennis shoe with a non-marking sole that is red, black, white, grey or any combination of those colors no other colors are to be seen

3 6 th 8 th : any tennis shoe with a non-marking sole that is red, black, white, grey or any combination of those colors no other colors are to be seen Option 2: any leather or canvas shoe in solid black, brown or red (i.e., Sperry or Toms) Notes: No light up shoes allowed No glitter shoes allowed All laces must be solid white, black or red No pattern (i.e. Checkered, polka dots, etc.) No boots of any kind allowed (unless specified by the teacher for special occasions) Belts: Solid black or solid brown belts required for all students wearing shorts or pants in grades 3 rd 8 th Socks/Tights: Socks must be solid red, white or black During cold weather, plain solid red, white or black tights or ankle length leggings may be worn Hair/Hair Accessories: Boys: Hair must be neat and clean Hair must be no longer than the top of the shirt collar in back Hair must be no longer than eyebrows in front Sideburns must not reach below center of the ear Hair fads are not allowed (shaved designs, unnatural hair coloring, Mohawks, etc.) Girls: Hair must be neat and clean Hair must not cover the eyes Unnatural hair coloring is not allowed All hair accessories must be red, white, black, Parker plaid or a combination of red, white, black Accessories: Backpacks, lunch boxes and other school supplies should reflect positive Christian principles All items should be labeled

4 Boys: No earrings, body piercings or tattoos (permanent or temporary) Girls: No body piercings or tattoos (permanent or temporary) No more than 2 pair of earrings Dangling earrings or large earrings (larger than a nickel) are not allowed Undergarments must not show under the uniform Jewelry should not be excessive. It should complement the uniform but not draw attention or be distracting. Outerwear: All sweatshirts, jackets and sweaters must either be: o Purchased from PTL o Purchased from Parker School Uniform o Purchased from the CLS Athletic Department website o Solid scarlet red, white, or black without emblem or logo In cold weather, heavy coats may be non-uniform but may only be worn outside Spirit Day Attire: Spirit days are specified days throughout the year where students are allowed to wear the following: School uniform Options 2: CLS shirt and uniform bottoms Options 3: CLS shirt with blue denim jeans or blue denim jean shorts (2 above knee or longer) or blue denim Capri pants Notes: Shoes must follow school guidelines Belts are optional Shirts can be un-tucked Shorts and jeans must not have a distressed look, holes, frays or colored design

5 Game Day Attire: On game days, students that are participating on a 7 th or 8 th grade school athletic team are allowed to wear the following: School Uniform Option 2: CLS athletic sweat suit with red athletic dry-fit embroidered shirt (short sleeve or long sleeve) Notes: Shoes must follow school guidelines Shirts can be worn un-tucked Items can only be purchased through Cheerleaders will wear their cheerleading uniform to include the long-sleeved undershirt, black leggings (mid-calf or lower), white cheerleading shoes, and white socks. Scout Day Attire: On days that students have Girl Scout or Boy Scout meetings or events, they are allowed to wear their scout uniforms. Girl Scouts: Option 2: Option 3: School uniform Full Girl Scout uniform (tops and bottoms purchased from council) K 5 th : GS shirt with vest/sash/apron with school uniform bottom or blue jeans (jeans must not have a distressed look, holes, frays or colored design) 6 th 8 th : GS shirt with school uniform bottom or blue denim jeans (jeans must not have a distressed look, holes, frays or colored design) Note: Everyone in troop should wear the same shirt and vest/sash/apron. Boy Scouts: Option 2: School uniform

6 Boy Scout uniform shirt (purchased from council) with school uniform bottom or blue denim jeans (jeans must not have a distressed look, holes, frays or colored design) Swim Suits: Middle school students may have the opportunity to go swimming during class trips, sports tournaments, or pool parties. During these events, girls may wear one-piece suits or tank-inis. Bikinis will not be allowed. Boys may wear modestlength swim trunks. PE/ATHLETIC DRESS CODE PE Clothing K 5 th do not change clothes for PE. 6 th 8 th : Students will be required to dress out in school selected shirts and shorts purchased from Parker Uniforms or from PTL. This includes students participating in Athletic period. 7 Golf - Practice khaki or black uniform shorts with CLS polo; Tournament khaki or black uniform shorts with golf polo Football - football pants and practice shirt for practice and football pants and game shirt for games; black dri-fit mesh gym shorts from Parker, Target, Academy with red gym shirt for Fridays Softball - Black mesh shorts with red gym shirt for practice; black softball pants and jersey for games Baseball - White baseball pants for practice with red gym shirt; white w/red pin stripe baseball pants and game shirt for games
