1 NOVA CLASSICAL ACADEMY UNIFORM GUIDELINES (A Set of Guidelines with Purchasing Information Is Available on the Website) GENERAL GUIDELINES FOR ALL STUDENTS, GRADES K-12 Uniforms must be neat, clean, and in good repair. All clothing must be properly sized (not baggy, too short, or tight). At the Upper campus (grades 6+), all shirts must be tucked in at all times unless they have a sweatshirt-style banded bottom. Burgundy sweatshirts with the Nova logo may be worn with a uniform shirt underneath. Hats and sunglasses may not be worn in the building. Uniforms are to be worn when performing in school concerts and on all field trips (unless instructed otherwise). Winter Leg Wear Option with Skirts: Upper and Lower campus girls may wear black, white, or gray ankle-length leggings with a white or matching colored sock. Only the Lower campus girls may wear the uniform pant under their jumpers. No other pants may be worn. Hairstyle and hair color must not draw undue attention or be distracting in the classroom environment. Hair accessories can be black, white, brown, blue, or Nova plaid. *Our vendors sell headbands and hair scrunchies in our Nova plaid. Makeup and nail polish must be minimal and modest, not excessive or distracting. Jewelry must be minimal and modest, and not distracting. Students may be asked to remove jewelry for P.E. class. No body-piercing jewelry (other than earrings). Tattoos are not allowed. Students may be directed to remove pen, ink, or marker drawings on the skin. Families are expected to ensure their children s adherence to Nova s appearance and uniform guidelines. Students found out of compliance with the guidelines may be asked to meet the school s standards before attending class. exceptions to these uniform guidelines, including assignment of non-uniform days, will be made at the discretion of the school s administration.
