Machine structure is designed with FME which is analyzed to ensure high rigid durability. With compact design, the machine needs less floor space but is capable of higher productivity. 3 Rigid Foundation The major structural component is Meehanite cast iron, which is heat treated to relieve stress, thereby assuring maximum rigidity and accuracy. Triangulate wide-distance base incorporates a durable ribbed box design for maximum structural loading. All castings are reinforced with heavy ribs to resist flex and damp vibrations. Motion Control High Precision Ballscrews Ballscrews and Linear guideways are provided by world s top manufacturers. Their premium quality is the only way to achieve high accuracy and longevity. Pre-tensioned ballscrews eliminate thermal expansion and ensure high working accuracy. MM-/ frame -coupled Axes Motors -mounted servo motors improve positioning accuracy and provide better contouring and threading. High Precision Linear Guideways MM series uses four-row linear recirculating ball bearing and guideway assemblies for all axes. They provide high load carrying capcity and rigidity with high running and positional accuracy as well as low friction. MM-1/ frame MM-/1 frame Structural Optimization All structural components and completed machine frame are optimized using finite element analysis and demonstrated by ANSYS Mechanical system. Recirculation Ball Guideways The recirculation ball guideways for each axis are preloaded to provide zero clearance between the moving surfaces. This increases rigidity in all directions while providing higher accuracy and reliability.

4 Spindle Tool Management Spindle Dynamic Balancing The on line dynamic balancing instrument calibrates the spindle displacement, speed, and acceleration of the full speed range. High Capacity Cartridge Spindle Radial thrust capacity is improved by preloaded angularcontact bearings and large space between front bearings. Cartridge spindle is designed for easy maintenance. Spindle Temperature Tracing Each spindle is well tested before it is assembled on machine. hours temperature running trace is recorded to confirm the thermal expansion stability. The bi-directional tool selection is achieved by PLC software prograing. The carousel type ATC is provided as standard, while side-mounted type ATCs are available for selection. Bar or Bar Coolant Through Spindle Coolant through spindle uses high pressure pump to supply coolant through tool, cooling the cutting edge directly. This clears chips during deep-hole drilling and tapping, increases tool life and allows higher cutting speeds. Two systems are available, one provides individual CTS tank with L big capacity equipped with bar or bar high pressure pump, the other provides bar high pressure pump built-in with machine major coolant tank which requires less floor space.
