2 Once considered the resort area for the Romans, thought to have had special healing powers because of its climate and location between the mountains and the sea, Cilento has been a well kept secret. Today it is a National Park and World Heritage Site. Composed of 95 small villages with winding roads to get in and out, it is a look into the past. We can visit the Greek temples in the morning and have dinner in the Norman Castle in the evening. There will be no shortage of locations to pick from. This will be the perfect place for you to paint. We will stay in the Villa Borgo Riccio.

3 Itinerary for Cilento Itinerary for Walter Bartman Painting Workshop in Cilento, Italy Date: April 4th to April 11th, You can extend your stay in Rome afterwards for an additional cost.

Airfare can be arranged through Greenearthtravel.com Single supplement $300 Itinerary 8 days, 7 nights Depart from USA on April 3rd, 2017 Day 1 - (Tuesday) Cilento Arrive at Rome Leonardo Da Vinci International Airport (FCO) board the fast train for the journey south to Salerno. Then we will proceed to the Cilento region and the Borgo Riccio B&B. After checking into the B&B, the remainder of the day is yours to relax, before rejoining your party for a Welcome Dinner. (D) Day 2 - (Wednesday) Roccadaspide Castle Step back in time and visit how southern Italy REALLY lived. The day's first stop is the medieval castle of Roccadaspide. Over 800 years old, the castle is one of the best in the region and the castle's owner will personally take you on a tour. The castle is not open to the public and we have special permission to paint throughout the castle. As it is Sunday, you'll enjoy a traditional six-course family dinner at a lovely agriturismo located in the beautiful countryside. Today will be a full day of painting 8 hours. (B, L, D) Day 3 - (Thursday) Buffalo and Castellabate For breakfast, you'll be stopping at the best Buffalo mozzarella factory for a cheese and yogurt tasting. After breakfast, journey to the sea village of Castellabate one of the highest points on the Cilento Coast. Where we can see from the island of Capri to Amalfi, the bay of Salerno and all the way down the Cilento Coast. Today will be a full day of painting 8 hours. Then return to the villa for pizza night***. (B, L, D) *** We are going to make pizza in our own wood burning brick oven at the B&B. Everyone can participate. Day 4 - (Friday) Cilento Coast and Palinuro We'll head west to the Cilento Coast, to the sea towns that hug the cliffs and their spectacular views. We will board a boat, ride down the coast and have lunch overlooking the sea before heading back to the B&B. The best views are from the water, I will leave it up to you for this day to decide to be on water or land. Today will be a full day of painting 6 hours. Dinner back at the B&B (B, L, D) Day 5 - (Saturday) Padula Spend the day at the Monastery of Padula, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that is a blend of Italy's religious and crusader past. Off the beaten path, this sixteenth century monastery is prized for its architectural splendor and rich collection of artistic treasures. After a tour we will have special permission to paint in private area of the

5 monastery.today will be a full day of painting 8 hours. We'll return to the villa for dinner and an evening of live, local music. (B, L, D) Day 6 - (Sunday)Paestum and the Greek Temples Enjoy a relaxing morning at the Greek temples of Paestum. These three full standing temples are the best examples outside of Greece. Today will be a full day of painting 8 hours. Pasta night at the B&B, guest can try to make our traditional pasta by hand. (B, D) Day 7 - (Monday) Torchiara and the Countryside To finish our perfect week we will be spending the day at Torchiara at your B&B and the countryside, this will be our last day of painting. We will end the day with a goodbye dinner while tasting wine and limoncello. (B, L, D) Day 8 - (Tuesday) Bid arrivederci to Cilento and journey north to Naples. Transfer to airport or train (about 1:40 min.) ***In Cilento we will have special permission to visit and go into restricted areas. ***Wine will be severed with all meals.
