1 Global Distribution and Business Management Graduate Location Qualification Requirements Typical Degrees include: Sydney Bachelor Degree Commerce, Economics, Marketing, International Studies Purpose of the role We offer our graduates diverse exposure and experience across a range of global distribution and business management disciplines. We expect the program to help our graduates identify and hone their areas of expertise and interest, building progressively on their skills with a view to launching their careers within AMP Capital at the end of the program. The stream spans three divisions of AMP Capital Australia & New Zealand, Asia & Portfolio Strategy, and Strategy & Investment Services. For our Asian business, fluency in an Asian language would be an advantage, but is not a requirement. Description of stream The Australia & New Zealand, Asia & Portfolio Strategy, and Strategy & Investment Services divisions are responsible for all global business development, strategic relationships and joint ventures, business strategy, client relationships, marketing and communications, investment services as well as formulating the design of leading edge products. The key business development channels include: Australian Retail; Self-Directed Wealth and SMSF Australian Institutional and Corporate Super; New Zealand; Japan Retail and Institutional, including our strategic partnership with Mitsubishi UFJ Trust Bank China business, including our strategic partnership and joint ventures with China Life International institutional The business management functions include: Marketing & Customer Office Content & Publishing Digital & Innovation Account Management & Planning Business Strategy Investment Services Client Services Product Development and Management
2 Rotations Offered The program offers four, six month rotations across the Global Distribution & Business Management stream. A brief description of each rotation is provided below: Australia & New Zealand Account Management & Planning: Relationships with consultants and research houses Support for key investment strategies of our Australian business, including Australian equities, fixed income, and multi-asset Development and capture of strategic business development and marketing plans based on a refined knowledge of our client base Australia & New Zealand Finance: Budgeting, financing, forecasting and keeping track of the Australia and New Zealand division Analytically focused team and responsible for providing finance support to the region, setting cash flow targets, budgets and providing regular reporting to the broader business Australian Institutional Business & Corporate Business: Responsible for our client relationships with Australia s largest institutional investors including superannuation funds, insurance companies, and Australia s sovereign wealth fund The team works closely with their clients to solve their investment needs which may be unique and require bespoke investment solutions Content & Publishing: Works with the investment teams to package our investment insights in the form of articles, whitepapers and videos that can be leveraged by the various channels (Retail, SDW & SMSF, Institutional Australia and international, and Japan) to support their marketing and sales initiatives Responsible for producing our investment communications which includes performance reporting but also direct communications to our clients Digital & Innovation: Responsible for the design and implementation of AMP Capital s digital strategy It seeks to identify new innovative technologies, platforms and providers that can be leveraged by all business units to enabling better customer experiences Retail Business: Responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with our adviser networks (both aligned and nonaligned) and distributing our funds in this market. Three key focuses developing strategic relationships with key external groups, partnering with AMP to develop goals-based retirement solutions and expand off-platform distribution Retail Marketing: Responsible for marketing a wide range of AMP Capital s funds, including our goals-based investment solutions, to financial advisers and end investors Partners with the Retail Business to support their various sales initiatives to not only help generate cash flow but importantly retain advisers With a strong focus on digital marketing the team engages in a variety of marketing activities from integrated marketing campaigns, generating regular content, s, presentations, webinars and events Self-Directed Wealth (SDW) & SMSF: Responsible for driving awareness, and ultimately, investment in our SMSF Suite of funds from both SMSF trustees but also financial advisers The team has ambitious targets to acquire new investor leads through integrated market campaigns and digital customer journeys with the ultimate goals of converting the leads to clients Strategy & Investment Services Client Services: Supports and engages with all of our customers whether they be global or Australian institutions, financial advisers or end investors The team has thousands of interactions with clients each month having a core understanding of our clients and their needs is a key skill for graduates to have Investment Risk & Performance: Assists investment teams and other key stakeholders to better understand the risks and performance outcomes across the firm s range of investment strategies.
3 Owner of performance measurement, performance analytics and reporting The Investment Risk team is dedicated to risk analysis, functions independently of investment teams, and is responsible for delivering its analysis and reporting to portfolio managers and the broader business Business Transformation: A team composed of change professionals with diverse skills and experience, ranging from investment management to project management Aims to provide a balance of subject matter expertise and a fresh set of eyes on the opportunities to deliver improvements to our business Engages with a very broad range of stakeholders across the firm, which evolves over time depending on the opportunities and projects underway Strategy & Planning: Activities are arranged across three broad areas, namely Strategy, Planning, and Portfolio Management Strategy involves working with the business to set the strategic direction of the firm and to influence key strategic decisions with well-informed recommendations essentially, it is our internal compass Planning takes our strategy the next level down, mapping how the strategy will be achieved, what is required, and aligning the different cogs of our business Portfolio Management is the air traffic control of AMP Capital; it assesses all the priorities, requirements, and expected timings to ensure resources are deployed efficiently International Division China Business Cooperation: Sydney-based and focused on supporting and engaging with our strategic partner, China Life The team is the conduit for relationships that permeate all levels of China Life Group and AMP Group, from Board level through to general staff The purpose is to establish and build relationships, explore and discuss areas of potential cooperation, actively collaborate and share intellectual property, as well as coordinating joint research and business enhancement projects This often involves hosting and coordinating delegations from China in the Sydney head office. Global Product: Global Product exists to drive product decisions that are compliant, profitable, and deliver outstanding client outcomes The team is composed of Product Effectiveness and Product Owner groups Product Effectiveness is focused on product hygiene, including offer documents, governance, change and assurance, and transitions Product Owner teams are split by investment class and are accountable for cradle-to-grave oversight across the product lifecycle, as well as product strategy, market insight, development, and design Japan Business Strategy: Sydney-based and focused on supporting the Tokyo office in delivering to the strategy and goals of the Japan business. Since 2011, AMP Capital has had a strategic and capital partnership with Mitsubishi UFJ Trust & Banking (MUTB) in Japan, which includes MUTB holding a 15% ownership stake in AMP Capital The firm also has long standing sub-advisory relationships in the retail channel with other Japanese groups including Nikko, Shinko, Daiwa, and Mizuho Portfolio Strategy: Aims to facilitate a robust and consistent approach to the assessment of merger & acquisition opportunities for AMP Capital The search for potential targets involves the establishment of screening criteria, internal stakeholder engagement and education, consultation with external advisors, due diligence, valuation analysis and postacquisition planning and integration The intent of the team is to accelerate the achievement of five year cash flow and profit targets, and ultimately build a stronger AMP Capital organisation capable of long-term, sustainable, international growth Technical Sales Specialists (TSS): The primary provider of technical expertise on capital raising initiatives, from both a sales and investment perspective The team s internal clients are investment teams and distribution teams, with whom each TSS member works closely alongside A TSS member will typically have responsibility for a particular investment capability (eg. global listed infrastructure) and the role is generally client-facing

Given the far-reaching scope of the stream and the diverse range of rotations on offer, there are numerous career path opportunities that would be available to graduates. A list of examples is provided below: Business development / client relationship manager Product or strategy analyst Marketing manager Technical Sales Specialist Performance or risk analyst China or Japan business associate Meet Karen Wen Graduate The variety of rotations I completed in the Global Distribution & Business Management stream of the AMP Capital Graduate Program gave me the chance to develop a wide range of business and technical skills and to learn from managers with diverse experiences, leadership styles, and expertise. A highlight of the graduate program was my rotation in the Strategic Partnerships China Team that focused on supporting and engaging with our strategic partner, China Life, the world s largest listed life insurance company. As a graduate, I was able to make meaningful contributions to establishing and building relationships, exploring areas of potential cooperation and coordinating joint business activities. This team provided a segway for me to connect to a wide range of stakeholders across the business including senior leadership, investment teams, Distribution and Finance. The culture of the graduate community is one of my favourite aspects of the graduate program. By being part of a community of both existing and past graduates, I have built valuable social and professional connections across the business. Starting your first job after university can be a daunting experience but the scope of support provided by the AMP Graduate Program has made it an enjoyable and highly rewarding experience.
