Coordinated community efforts to provide evidence-based comprehensive prevention services (addressing substance use, teen pregnancy, school failure, and violence) for youth and families in their communities. Developed (in a collaborative process) and teaches the Youth Development Training For Supervisors and Administrators curriculum (12 sessions; 6 sessions on theory and principles of youth development and 6 sessions on incorporating theory into practice using a change theory model). Assisted organizations in program evaluation.

Private hospital providing psychiatric treatment and chemical dependency services to children, adolescents, adults and their families with specialized programs in Trauma, Eating Disorders, and Dual Diagnosis (psychiatric and chemical dependency). Associate Administrator for Clinical Services - 3/89 to 4/98: Responsible for the daily operations of all inpatient, partial and outpatient services and clinical support services. Directly supervised all Unit Program Directors (psychiatry and chemical dependency) and Directors of Social Work, Nursing, Expressive and Recreational Therapies, Admissions, Medical Records, Utilization Review and Quality Improvement, and Dietary Departments: Directed the inservice education program and orientation for all clinical staff. Directed the supervision of student placements and provided direct clinical supervision for selected graduate students. Continuously implemented state of the art therapeutic modalities. Planned and implemented the Children s Unit program and designed and ran group therapy program on the Children s Unit (and trained other staff to run group therapy). Planned and implemented the Partial Hospital Program (for adults) and provided clinical supervision. Provided education and training to schools and community groups on a variety of mental health topics. Participated in several multi-agency committees and forums to plan and network services. Led the planning and implementation for a computerized medical record. Cayuga Counseling Services, Auburn, New York Clinical Director - 3/87 to 3/89: Supervised the certified Office of Mental Health clinical outpatient services and Department of Social Services (DSS) funded programs including all outpatient therapists (psychologists and social workers) and case managers as well as providing direct therapy for mental health and related substance abuse issues to children, adolescents, adults and families utilizing a variety of modalities. Implemented child and adolescent programming and conducted individual, group and family therapy. Obtained a grant to create an organized community system to address sexual abuse in Cayuga County involving CCS, DSS, the Rape Crisis Center, and the Police. Department and Family Court. Planned and implemented a Children s Day Treatment Program for Cayuga County in cooperation with BOCES. Expanded home-based parenting DSS funded program through grant writing and community networking. Developed community-based program to facilitate growth and development and communication between pre-schoolers and parents.

3 Member of the Community Services Board and chaired Office of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities sub-committee. Promoted the development of the Mental Health Association in Cayuga County. Planned and implemented procedures for new Office of Mental Health (OMH) clinic certification. Planned curriculum and provided direct instruction and clinical supervision (on University Hospital s Inpatient Psychiatric Unit) to nursing students. This project involved setting up a multi-agency youth advisory council with 15 participating youth for five agencies on the Near West Side (Boys and Girls Club, Spanish Action League, Huntington Family Center, Vincent House and the PEACE Westside Family Resource Center) CONTACT Community Services: Participated in the Circles (Bridges Out of Poverty) Process which is designed to move people out of poverty
