1 CENTERCOURT CHATHAM JUNIOR DEVELOPMENT TENNIS PROGRAMS

2 ABOUT CENTERCOURT TENNIS Centercourt Tennis offers a wide range of high quality junior tennis programs that provides players with the opportunity to learn quickly using learning progressions in a nurturing environment. With an extensive menu of tennis programs for pre-school children and up, from a beginner level to high performance nationally ranked players, we have programs to suit your tennis needs. All Centercourt junior programs provide players with a solid technical tennis foundation that is complemented with an athletic skills training component. Our junior player development pathway includes a variety of red, orange, green and yellow ball programs for players of all ages and ability levels. Our structured teaching parameters, training progressions and learning environment helps players to improve their tennis and athletic skills quicker than using traditional methods. If you are looking for a high quality tennis program committed to helping your athlete learn tennis or help them to reach a higher level of play, then Centercourt is the place for you. We offer free player evaluations to determine which of our programs offers the best fit for your child. For more information on our programs or to set up a free evaluation for your child, please contact Jose Funes at jose@centercourtclub.com CENTERCOURT PLAYER ACHIEVEMENT PATHWAY We serve a wide range of junior players from 3 years and up, with varying levels of athleticism and tennis skills. We strive to help them to be better athletes and tennis players. We also put emphasis on how they grow as a person. As a result of the vast range of tennis programming that we offer, we ve established a clear player pathway from red to orange to green to yellow balls. Players are placed in programs based on various factors and they progress through the pathway based on their age, commitment and tennis skills. Our Earned Advancement Philosophy is centered on each player completing various activities that measure tangible skills. We have three to five challenges within each Centercourt Tennis Program that measure their skill acquisition achievements. Once a player successfully completes a challenge, they will receive information on the activities involved in the next challenge. Our weekly lesson plans are focused on the appropriate tennis and athletic skills required for the players to be successful in future challenges. In addition to tennis and athletic skill development, we try to instill character traits such as effort, sportsmanship, focus and attitude. These traits are valuable both on and off the court. Earned advancement based on a wide range of criteria and challenges is an excellent way to measure their progress. However, we ve seen that sometimes players encounter some difficulties and need help. In these instances, we suggest that supplementing their tennis training with private lessons or additional training sessions will help them to improve. As players accomplish new levels of achievement, they will receive stripes and/or grips on their racquet to recognize their level within the Centercourt Player Achievement Pathway.

3 Centercourt I & II, Red Ball Edge Tennis Programs Red Low Compression Balls used on 36 Foot Courts Centercourt I (3-5 year olds) A relaxed environment where fundamental tennis skills are taught and a wide range of fun activities are offered that help develop the player agility, balance, movement, sending, receiving and gross motor skills. Players primarily use 17 or 19-inch racquets in this 1 hour training session. Centercourt II (6-8 year olds) In addition to learning more tennis skills, players improve their movement and rallying skills. We help each player to develop better tennis mechanics and more consistent shots. A variety of fun activities are used to improve player athleticism through agility, balance, coordination and movement development. Players primarily use 19, 21 or 23-inch racquets in this 1 hour training session. Red Ball Edge This program is focused to help experienced red ball players improve their technical, tactical and competitive tennis skills. We are developing and improving skills that will help these players in their long-term tennis and athletic skill development. Players with a solid tennis skill level, high energy, a love of the game and a high level of player commitment to train and to compete are ideal for this program. We will utilize extensive live ball play activities in the training. At this player level, they should be competing in Centercourt Box League matches and/or Red Ball Junior Team Tennis. At the appropriate time, we will introduce the use of orange balls and a 60-foot court to challenge these players and help prepare them for their next challenge. Entry into this training program is by invitation or by a personal evaluation. Players in this program have good shot consistency and are able to direct their serve, groundstrokes and volleys. Centercourt I & II Schedule of Training Sessions: Monday Friday: 4:00 5:00pm & 5:00 6:00pm Saturday & Sunday: 1:00 2:00pm & 2:00 3:00pm Red Ball Edge Schedule of Training Sessions: Tuesday/Thursday: 5:00 6:00pm Saturday: 11:30am 1:00pm Centercourt III, IV & Orange Ball Tennis Academy Orange Low Compression Balls on 60 Foot Courts - For children ages 8-10 Centercourt III Players develop their tennis technique skills, athletic skills and court coverage skills which are critical for success in rallying consistency and in point-playing. A variety of fun and competitive games are used to develop a strong foundation of tennis fundamentals. Players use 21, 23 or 25 inch racquets in this 1 hour training session. Centercourt IV These players can already rally and control the ball direction with success. We provide more technical and tactical guidance to help players develop an all-court game. Players increase their rallying, volley, serve and point playing skills while improving their athleticism and shot consistency. Focus is placed on players using the proper shot techniques and court coverage skills. Players primarily use a 23 to 25 inch racquet in this 90 minute training session. 3

4 Orange Ball Academy This program is designed to help provide experienced 7 to 10 year old tennis players with focused training in stroke technique, tactical strategy, decision-making, athletic skill development and court coverage skills. We build player skills with a combination of technical drills followed by rallying and point-playing drills that reinforce the skills that were practiced. We show players how to build points and be successful competitors. The key elements for player success include a high level of player commitment, good focus, high energy and a love of the game. Players are requested to play in at least 2 training sessions and 1 USTA Orange Ball tournament per session. We almost exclusively use orange balls, but may supplement the training with green balls. Players should use an appropriate length graphite racquet no longer than 25 inches long. Players in this program should be playing in competitive orange ball events like Centercourt Box Leagues, Junior Team Tennis, and USTA Orange Ball Tournaments.
