Call to Order: Mike called the meeting to order at 1:00. Annual Awards: The following SSCA awards were mentioned. John Merz SSCA Series Cup: Keel-Gary Clarke, Windsurfer- Murray Guy, Paralympics-Logan Campbell, Male-Payton Byrns, BSSC/SSC, Female-Tanys Byrns, BSSC/SSC, Master-LP Gagnon, BSSC/SSC, Kite-Corey Coons SWC, BSSC/SSC, Youth-Andre Gagnon, BSSC/SSC. Sailor of the Year: Logan Campbell, 10 th Paralympics and 8 th World Championships. Logan is in Miami, Florida, competing at the Olympic Classes Regatta. Volunteer of the Year: Patty Coons for all of her work as race Officer at RSC and Canada Games, and Kevin Coons for all of his work at RSC and Canada Games. Approval of agenda: Minutes of 2012 AGM: The agenda was reviewed. Motion: Mike R. /Mark B.--accept the agenda as presented. Carried Motion: Mike G./Mark B. approve the minutes of the SSCA 2012 AGM meeting as presented. Carried 1

2 Business arising from minutes: Reports: None. President Report. Mike Heseltine. Mike thanked Ben for his work as Treasurer, SSCA Executive and Mark for their work in the past year. Reported on the Optimist program, Logan Campbell represented Canada at the Paralympics. Will be stepping aside as President and enjoyed the last 4 years as President. Training Report. Blair MacGregor. No report. Racing Report. Paul Ross. Written report read by Mike H, young sailors added to the schedule, Canada Games in BSC. Mike Ritchie. Need to recruit new members. Sailing school and regatta were successful. RSC. Sandy Lauder. Significant water level issues; shore damage has occurred; Lots of damage, still rebuilding. Regatta was windy, had 8 races. BSSC Report. Ben Pickford. Thanked John Barry for all of his work with the school and ramp design and construction. Lots of new activity in catamarans. Successful racing and school. Working on the 2.4 launching system and storage. SSC Report. Ben Pickford. Water level is moving up again; issues with water damage, and beach erosion, Optimist, MSS and racing is strong. PASC. Paul Ross. Written report read by Mike Heseltine. MSS was well attended with positive reviews. Cruising day, Annual Regatta, catamaran sailing had success. Triathlon training with sailing planned for next year. SWC. Corey N. Successful season, First organized kite race with Windsurfers. Murray Guy won the Windsurfing Provincials and Corey Coons won the kites. LDYC. Romuald Lagace. No report. WOWSC. Sandy Lauder. 227 sailing sessions in Club is strengthening process and relationships. Staff report. Mark Lammens thanked volunteers from the 2

3 Executive. Optimist sailing went well at SSC, PASC, BSSC, and PASC. Sask Sport AWAD program has accepted SSCA request for funding to design launching system for 2.4 mr boats. Design ongoing, assistance from JNH wielding and Hatch Engineering. Financials Ben Pickford. Surplus of $10,086; last year it was a ($12,730) with the purchase of a new van. Future Best supported Logan Campbell in his efforts to prep for London. Athlete With A Disability (AWAD) funding for boats and launching system; received an extension for the launching system. Purchased new dollies for the 420 s, and gear. Motion: Ben/Joe--accept the Audited Statement. Carried Motion: Ben/ Mike Gale--hire HVB auditor for 2013 to do the SSCA financials. Carried Sport Legacy Reminder of the Sport Legacy Program through Sask Sport. All donations receive tax receipts for Gift in Kind or cash through the National Sport Trust, Saskatchewan Branch. Discussion about mentioning donating to Junior Sailing on the SSCA web site. Checklick Other Items MAP: Motion: Mike G./Mark B. use Checklick for MSS registration for a one year trial period. SSCA to pay all set up costs and Clubs to pay 5% transaction fee. Carried MAP criteria were discussed. Cheques distributed after membership fees and lists are submitted to SSCA. Total $8, funding for Discussion about directing MAP to the Mobile Sailing School to streamline processes, for all clubs that host the MSS. Motion: Ben/ Mike Ritchie--Past President to review MAP policy and process for the next Board meeting.
