2 1) Call to Order Sister Donna Lackie, GSU National President called the meeting to order at 2:00 p.m. She called the roll of Officers present, as follows: Present: By phone: Donna Lackie, National President Bob Cameron, NVP Jack Gale, NVP Lori Walton, NVP - Equity Martine Babcook, RVP Western Daniel Charron, RVP NCR Louis Cotte, RVP Quebec Alain Courcelles, RVP Western David Cunning, RVP Ontario Mélanie Hamel, RVP Quebec Linda Harding, RVP Pacific Ron Le Blanc, RVP NCR Greg McGillis, RVP Pacific Bill Walsh, RVP Atlantic Regrets: Dale Blandford, RVP Pacific Randy Howard, RVP Atlantic Dave Thomson, RVP Ontario Amber Miller, RVP NCR (On leave) Staff: Bob Haywood, Special Advisor to National President Maria Thomas, Assistant to National President Gail Peck, Finance and Administration Officer 2) Ratification Members of Internal GSU Standing Committees 2014 M / S Martine Babcook / Linda Harding That the appointments of National Officers to the following committees be ratified by the National Council. Recorded Vote #1 / MOTION CARRIED. (Appendix A ) Sister Lackie indicated currently, many Locals are holding their Annual General Meeting and changes can be made to the Internal GSU Standing Committees. However, these changes do not need to be ratified by National Council. Sister Lackie also stated that if anyone would like to sit on a Committee to send her an . Brother Cotte indicated that he would like to be a member of the Finance Review Committee and Brother McGillis indicated that he would like to be a member of the Education Committee. Brothers Cameron and Cotte requested clarification regarding the WFA Committee. He noted that there are no Local Presidents on this Committee. Brother Gale stated that the reason for this was that an RVP from each region was selected as the contact person to represent and report to their region. 3) Round Table The meeting ended with a round table discussion. Brother Haywood reminded National Council members, who were elected as delegates to attend the PSAC Convention in 2015, to register on-line or by fax. 3 Sister Lackie indicated that she would be doing a call out letter requesting to be informed as to who will be attending PSAC Convention as observers from the Locals. 4) Adjournment The meeting adjourned at 2:25 p.m. GSU Special NC Conference Call Minutes of November 25, 2014 page 3
