2 Capitol Hill Chorale DAY 1: DEPART WASHINGTON DC Depart on an overnight flight to Vienna. DAY 2: ARRIVE VIENNA (WD) Upon arrival meet with Tour Manager at the airport and transfer to the hotel. No other city has been home to so many composers of international renown: some, such as Schubert, Strauss, Schoenberg and Berg were born there, others, such as Mozart, Beethoven, Haydn, Brahms and Mahler chose to live in Vienna. Check-in to the hotel. Welcome Dinner. Overnight in Vienna. DAY 3: VIENNA (B, D) Depart for a city tour of Vienna including the Hofburg Imperial Palace, Parliament Palace, City Hall, Burgtheater, Pasqualati Haus, Votivkirche, Old Town, St. Stephen s Cathedral (Entrance Included.), Mozarthaus, Belvedere Palace & Gardens, and Schönbrunn Palace (Entrance Included). CONCERT I: Possible venues include St. Stephen s Cathedral in a shared concert with an American Choir that is celebrating their 50 th Anniversary, Palais Palffy Beethoven Hall, St. Blasé Gothic Hall, Grosser Ehrbarsaal, St. Nepomuk Church, and others. 3 DAY 4: VIENNA (B, D) SERVICE I: Sing mass in one of Vienna s great churches. Enjoy a half day tour following the traces of famous composers. Overnight in Vienna. DAY 5: VIENNA LAKE DISTRICT SALZBURG (B, D) Depart for Mondsee in the Lake District. Estimated distance: miles. Estimated drive time: 3 hours. Enjoy a Sound of Music tour en route to the Lake District including Hellbrunn Castle. When Archbishop Markus Sitticus built the place in the 1600s, he had trick fountains mounted in the floors and walls. To satisfy his quirky sense of humor, he occasionally sprayed his guests by activating a secret mechanism. You will also visit the Collegiate Church of St. Michael in Mondsee. This famous site was used as the Wedding Church while filming the Sound of Music. Continue to Salzburg. Estimated distance 20.9 miles. Estimated drive time: 1 hour. 4 DAY 6: SALZBURG (B, D) Enjoy a half-day city tour of Old Town. You will view the Dom Cathedral, the Mozarteum (the college of music where Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart composed The Magic Flute) and the house where he was born, which has his piano and original manuscripts, the small church graveyard where his family is buried, and many monuments to Wolferl in the city Spend the afternoon at Mirabelle Gardens with its Angel Staircase. CONCERT II: Possible venues include the Gothic Hall at St. Blase, University Church, Lutheranian Christus Church, St. Andrä Church, and others. Overnight in Salzburg. Concert at the Gothic Hall at St. Blase DAY 7: SALZBURG CESKY KRUMLOV PRAGUE (B, D) Check out of the hotel. Depart for Cesky Krumlov. Estimated distance: miles. Estimated drive time: 3 hours. Enjoy a guided sightseeing tour of Cesky Krumlov, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, best known for the fine architecture and art of the historic old town and Český Krumlov Castle. Continue to Prague. This magical city of bridges, cathedrals, gold-tipped towers and church domes, has been mirrored in the surface of the swanfilled Vltava River for more than ten centuries. Check-in to the hotel. 5 DAY 8: PRAGUE (B, D) We will enjoy a half day city tour of the Prague Castle District (Hradcany), St. Vitus s Cathedral, Lesser Town (Mala Strana) and Charles Bridge on foot. Entrance to the Castle (Old Royal Palace, St Vitus Cathedral, Golden Lane with Daliborka Tower, St Georges Basilica) included. ALTERNATE SERVICE I: Possible mass at St. Giles Church, Tyn Church, St. Peter and Paul Church, and others. Overnight in Prague. DAY 9: PRAGUE - Karlstejn Castle Prague (B, FD) Excursion to Karlstejn Castle for a guided tour. Charles IV built this medieval castle from 1348 to 1357 to safeguard the crown jewels of the Holy Roman Empire. Although the castle had been changed over the years, with such additions as late Gothic staircases and bridges, renovators have removed these additions, restoring the castle to its original medieval state. CONCERT III: Possible venues include St. Nicholas Church, Korunni Chapel, and others. Farewell Vltava Dinner Cruise. Overnight in Prague. 6 Proposal for Capitol Hill Chorale The Chorus understands and agrees that: (1) the proposed itinerary is tentative, and is subject to change as tour planning proceeds; (2) Classical Movements can only book concerts after a contract is signed, and (3) concert presenters, concert halls, and governments sometimes cancel concerts after having committed to them, on short notice and without recourse available to Classical Movements. Classical Movements will advise the Chorus promptly of all changes in the proposed itinerary and of available alternatives. In the event a concert is canceled, Classical Movements will identify and offer the Chorus one or more replacement concerts, but Classical Movements cannot guarantee that the replacement concert will be in the same venue or the same city as the canceled concert. The Chorus may accept or decline a replacement concert. TOUR PRICE min 70 paying: $ per person in double accommodations in accordance with the proposed itinerary for the minimum of 70 paying passengers and two buses. This price is valid for a maximum of 80 total passengers and two buses. PRICING VALID: Pricing is valid for a maximum of 30 days from the date of this offer. After 30 days prices may change. We will need to convert this proposal into a contact before the 30 day pricing expiration deadline in order for the pricing to be valid. We offer the option of upgrading to a policy that includes trip cancellation and full trip interruption coverage should you wish to purchase it and pay the additional premium required.
