This PDF document will provide you with some useful information and guidance for the preparations of you and your team before heading off to the cradle of wintersports in Norway. This document strives to be both userfriendly and as a green tool. It has an interactive menu on the front page in order to access information with a single click. 4 Just as it happened in 1994, the Lillehammer 2016 Winter Youth Olympic Games Opening Ceremony will be an outdoor event and open to a large audience. The ceremony will take place at the Lysgårdsbakkene Ski Jumping Arena in Lillehammer and the warm-up show will start at 18:30. The official programme will start at 19:00 and has a duration of approximately 90 minutes. This is a ticketed event. The Lillehammer 2016 Winter Youth Olympic Games Closing Ceremony will take place at the Sjogg Tent at Stampesletta in Lillehammer and will only be open for accredited participants. Located in the Youth Olympic Villages (YOVs) of Lillehammer and Hamar, at the NOC Service Centre, the SIC will provide information related to sport events and training, such as official start lists, competition and training schedules. Located in all sports venues, the SID will also provide information related to the sports event and training in that venue. The SID will fulfil the functions of what is often known as the competition office, in addition to functions such as IF services. The competitions period for Ski Jumping is from February. Please note that 21 February is a reserve day. The first TCM for the Ski Jumping discipline will be held on 13 February at 17:45. The Lillehammer 2016 website at will provide all information about sports. The Official Time Keeper of Lillehammer 2016, will provide the athletes biographies and near real time results on the website. The information will be delivered, managed and shared according to the requirements outlined in Youth Olympic Results and Information Services (YORIS).

7 The training concept of Lillehammer 2016 aims at meeting the requirements for the young athletes who come to participate in the competitions. The training offer will be valid for the period between the opening and the closing of the Lillehammer YOV. There are 4 days of official training, of which 2 prior to their first competition. In addition, the athletes have free access to engage in basic, non-sport specific training in the sports centre in Håkons Hall in YOV Lillehammer. You may consult the opening hours below. The Lysgårdsbakkene Ski Jumping Hill is situated across a field from the YOV and transport will be provided from the YOV to the venue for official training and competitions. Please refer to the official Event Schedule for Lillehammer The training schedule may be subject to changes. All non-sport specific training opportunities are open to all accredited athletes and team officials free of charge. Håkons Hall Sport Centre is located in the Lillehammer YOV Residential Zone, and the R on the YOAC will provide access the centre. Håkons Hall Sport Centre is an accessible, supervised and equipped generic training facility with a free-weight room, a stretching room and cardio equipment. There is a running track on level 4 in Håkons Hall. Opening dates : 8 21 February 2016 Opening hours: 07:00 22:00 It is not necessary to book in advance.
8 During Lillehammer 2016 Fédération Internationale de Ski (FIS) will be responsible for 4 events including the Ski Jumping discipline. The first two events are the traditional Individual Ski Jumping competitions, whereas the two team events are unique to the Youth Olympic Games. Both competitions take place on the normal hill and consist of a trial round and two scored rounds (first and final). The overall score in Ski Jumping is the sum of points from the two competition rounds (first and final round). The total number of points for one round is calculated as the sum of: Points for jumping distance (metres converted to distance points. Points for jumping performance (style points awarded by the jumping judges) Points for in-run length difference (metres converted to gate compensation points) Points for tangential wind speed and direction (metres per second converted to wind compensation points) The athlete with the most point wins. The competition takes place on the normal hill and consists of a trial round and two scored rounds (first and final). Participation in the trial round is not mandatory. Twenty team are expected to participate in the event. Teams are composed of one male ski jumper, one female ski jumper and one male Nordic combined athlete, all of whom have already qualified. In the team competition there are three groups for both the trial round and the two competition rounds. One competitor from each team is entered per group. Female competitors from Ski Jumping start in the first group, then male competitors from Nordic Combined in the second group and then male competitors from Ski Jumping in the third group. After the first round, only the top eight teams will continue to the final round. During the final round, the last group will start in reverse order of the team's rank after the second group. The overall score in Ski Jumping is the sum of points from the two competition rounds (first and final round). 9 The mixed gender and mixed discipline Nordic Team Event will allow athletes from the Ski Jumping, Nordic Combined and Cross-Country to compete as a team of 5 athletes. Each team consists of 5 athletes from the same NOC. Participating in the Ski Jumping competition: 1 female athlete Ski Jumping 1 male athlete Ski Jumping 1 male athlete Nordic Combined (who does also take part in the Cross-Country competition) These rules apply for: Draw Group classification and tie-break rules Penalties, disqualification rules, protests and appeals Technical Meetings Scoring Measurement Video recordings for judges to analyse athletes performance The Cross-Country competition (please refer to the Sport Explanatory Brochure for Cross- Country Skiing): Gundersen / pursuit start Cross-Country: 1 male athlete Nordic Combined 1 female athlete Cross-Country 1 male athlete Cross-Country
10 Lillehammer 2016 Venue Name: Lysgårdsbakkene Ski Jumping Hill (NH) Venue Owner: Lillehammer Olympiapark AS Venue Capacity: Address: Lysgårdsvegen 55, 2609 Lillehammer GPS Coordinates: , The ski jumping hill was built for the Winter Olympics in Lillehammer in 1994, and has become the iconic symbol of Lillehammer. The technically modern ski jumping facility was completed in 1992 and consists of a large and normal hill, HS138 and HS100, respectively. Only the normal hill will be used for training and competition during the Youth Olympic Games. Access to the ski lift will be given exclusively to the competing athletes and their Team Officials on days with official training and competitions. No ski pass is required, as the YOAC and /or the bib will The Lillehammer 2016 Mascot and Medals Ceremonies will take place in the Sports Venue for each sport and discipline, as soon as possible after the competition. The Victory Ceremonies will support the overall mission and vision of Lillehammer These ceremonies will follow the protocol determined for the Youth Olympic Games by the IOC, which aim to honour the individual and team achievements of the athletes. Medals will be presented in the following order: bronze, silver, gold. The national flags of the medallists NOCs will be raised as the national anthem of the gold medallist s nation is played. For Mixed-NOC Team Events, instead of the usual NOC flags and anthems, the Olympic Flag will be raised for each medal-winning team and the Olympic Hymn will be played. give access to the ski lift during Games time. All Lillehammer 2016 venues will have permanent security supervision. There will be a higher security level during official training and competition sessions. All venues will have access control. Access to specific zones in the venue will be attributed according to the rights given to the holder of the Youth Olympic Games Accreditation Card. Spectators do not require accreditation or tickets to watch competitions in any disciplines.
