6 Preparing towards EST implies (among other things): Designing/building a next generation large aperture telescope that supersedes most of the present (old) facilities Developing new instrumentation that accommodates the requeriments of present/future solar research Developing powerful MCAO systems Developing new ways for telescope operation to make it more productive and useful for the global community
