2 DEGREE PROGRAMME & CAREER Regardless of whether the company is a large enterprise, a medium-sized firm or a small company, the fundamental challenges faced by international marketing managers remain the same. This is true of the trade, service and industry sectors, irrespective of the field of activity. The training designed for international marketing executives is therefore purposely broad and does not focus on any specific company size, business area or sector. International marketing managers require solid specialist marketing knowledge as well as a deep understanding of internal requirements and frameworks. A weighty share of business strategy development and the resulting marketing strategy of a company are down to them. This includes, amongst others, the development of global-facing positioning, market and product strategies, as well as the preparation of the implementation of these strategies on all markets across the world. They define operationalised objectives, steer planning processes and monitor the efficiency of implemented marketing measures. At the same time they are responsible for the continual flow of information not only to clients, but also to all relevant institutions, authorities and public bodies at home and abroad. Market demands are at the heart of all thinking and dealings. Successful marketers therefore also require the personal potential for self-organisation and problem-solving, whilst being equipped with conflict skills, cooperation ability, entrepreneurial thinking, flexibility in thinking and dealings, and the willingness to continually learn and develop.
