Course contents Materials: wood, stone, silicates, ceramics, concrete, reinforced concrete, steel, alloys, plastics, fleece, thermal insulation (polystyrene, mineral wool, foam), damp-proof, contemporary ecological materials, standards, operational safety, the impact of materials on psychophysical conditions and material environment of human, working conditions, fire resistance, acoustic properties, technical features and statics and impact of materials on the environment. Manufacturing processes of engineering materials - the role of materials selection. Tolerating the dimensions of the phases of product design, product manufacturing, technical control. Emergencies and life-threatening conditions. Dealing with the unconscious person. Clinical death (causes, symptoms and diagnosis). Learning resuscitation. The shock-pathophysiology, symptoms, emergency combat shock. Hemorrhage, bleeding and staunchng. Wounds and their dressing. Rules of conduct in body injuries at the scene of accident. The order of rescue operations in case of multiple injuries (ABCDEF). Dealing with acute injuries of soft tissues of motion (PRICEMM). Training in dealing with injuries of head, chest and abdomen. Introducing to students draining of gaseous pollution and dusts. Familiarising students with issues of the division of the air in rooms. Getting students to know questions of air-conditioning. Familiarising them with the exploitation of air-conditioning systems and with dangers that air-condition may cause. P_W02 has theoretical knowledge about the risks created by air conditioning, P_U01 is able to discuss the basic parameters and characteristics of the air conditioning and ventilation systems. P_U02 interprets the dangers occurng in the work by the machines, equipment and production processes. P_U03 can identify the basic elements of air conditioning and ventilation systems. P_K01 is aware of the role of science in the development of health and safety and the need for lifelong learning. P_K02 actively seeks sources of scientific information for the purpose of self-education. Excess heat, Occupational Health and Safety, 10

11 the heat from the people, the release of heat by the machinery, equipment and furnaces, heat generated by lighting equipment, heat loss through the walls of buildings or open windows and doors of rooms. Draining moisture by ventilation, moisture produced by people; evaporation of the liquid in tanks; wet combustion products. Draining of gaseous pollution, radioactive substances and dusts; term of drift of pollution from different technologies. Division of indoor air: air distribution systems in ventilation, an air unit, suction unit, general ventilation schemes. Natural ventilation: the use of aeration in industrial buildings; methods for determining the effectiveness of heat and wind aeration. Mechanical Ventilation: general mechanical ventilation, local ventilation, pollution capture systems at work. Rules of room air conditioning. The requirements for different types of air spaces such as treatment room facilities, food storage, livestock breeding units, the public halls, etc. The components of air conditioning systems, their types, working rules, and construction types. Kirchhoff s first and second law. Magnetic field. The vector B. of magnetic induction. Interacting of current wires. Electromagnetic induction. Energy of magnetic field. Electromotive force of mutual inductance. The powers in circuits of alternating sinus current. The flow of alternating current by elements R, L and C. Production and the distribution of electric energy. Three-phase systems.electric machines. Division of electric machines. Building and working electric machines: engines, dynamos, alternators, transformers, autotransformers. The threat from side of electric energy. Influence of electric current on man. Systems of electric - energetistic net of low voltage TN, TT, IT. The examples - pattern of installation. Electric shock protection.the ways of realization of electric shock protection (before direct touch). The ways of realization of additional electric shock protection (before indirect touch). SELV, PELV, FELV systems. Threats resulting from use of net of low voltage. Degrees of protection of IP devices. Ways of protecting receivers in different nest systems. Building, working and characteristics of fuses. The building, kinds, working and characteristics of residual current device ( the RCD). The electric installations about special degree of threat: rooms of bathrooms, pools, saunas, installations on teritory of building and demolition, the installations in agricultural farms and horticultural, the installations in spaces limited with conductive surfaces, installations of camping sites, yacht pools, exhibitions, installations in furniture, the installations of external lighting. Receiving measurements. Influence of magnetic field on human organism. Distribution of magnetic fields. The acceptable values of intensities of magnetica and electric field.
