In particular the students are acquainted with the project cycle preparation, and implementation, public funds spending, calculation of project profitability as well as with formal requirements specific to different sources of EU funding. Project preparation cycle and related costs: identification of project ideas (development cycles of different activities); components of project appraisal in private and public sectors market analysis, technical aspects (selection of technology and of project size corresponding to market requirements, benefits and problems of project scale), location and site selection and their impact on supplies and sales costs as well as the quantity and quality of services expected from direct project environment. Investors expectations in respect to location. Environmental impact assessment: labor and management costs, financial analysis and project funding (working capital, recurrent costs definitions, importance and estimation). Project s residual value. Investment project profitability indicators. Risk handling In investment appraisal sensitivity of profitablity to changes in major cash flow items (investment and operating cost, sales prices.
