3 DataCentred Cloud Services Pricing DataCentred s Cloud service is based on Open Source technologies principally OpenStack for compute and Ceph for storage. This allows for maximum flexibility and scalability and low unit costs as reflected in the pricing below. Customers can access our cloud compute and storage resources on a pure pay for usage model at the rates set out below. Resource consumption is metered and billed on an hourly basis for compute and storage resources. Customers can obtain additional discounting by signing contracts of a fixed term of 12 months for a minimum spend commitment per month as per the table below. The spend commitment would related to computing storage, firewall and load balancing resources, but would exclude ancillary items such as cross connects. Education customers are eligible for an additional 10% discount to the rates below (pay as you go and committed). Cloud Compute DataCentred provides the following instance sizes as standard. Each is provided with a choice of ephemeral disk storage sizes. Choice will depend on selection of Operating system. Windows requires larger disk sizes than typically needed for Linux distributions. As this storage is ephemeral ie the storage is deleted when the instance is turned off, it is recommended that data is stored in the Cloud Storage service (block or object as appropriate). Billing for instances is based on hourly consumption for each hour or part hour that the instance is deployed. This includes instances that are suspended. 4 Licensing Instance pricing excludes Licensing for Operating systems or other software. Customers are responsible for their own patching. Microsoft and Red Hat licences are available from DataCentred on an hourly basis at the following rates. Cloud Storage The DataCentred Cloud Storage service can be accessed either as a stand alone service providing object storage or attached to for servers deployed in the DataCentred Cloud Compute service, providing both block and object storage. Storage is priced at the same rate whether consumed as part of a Compute service or stand alone. 5 Where data needs to be transferred physically to be uploaded into the Cloud services we can accommodate a variety of physical media. Technical support required is charged on a time basis according to the SFIA rate card. Firewall Instances Clients are able to use virtual machine instances to run firewalls as an application service. DataCentred can also provide a licensed service on an hourly billed model as per below. Firstly, you can run load balancer as an application on a virtual machine by selecting an appropriate VM type (or pair) and deploying a load balancer application. OpenStack itself provides a Load balancer as a Service feature which can be deployed. Pricing for this option is as per below. Pricing is based on number of instances and also per 100 concurrent connections. Pricing is dependent upon size and whether SSL termination is needed. We provide a number of options below. 6 These costs are additional to the compute resources needed to run the instance. The instance sizing required is dependent upon complexity of rulesets, concurrency, and SSL usage. Public and Private Network Ports We provide for termination of private networks into the infrastructure e.g. PSN, N3, Janet. Please note that this does not include any network or firewall infrastructure which may be needed to terminate these networks. These are covered by device hosting section below. A pair is recommended for high availability. Public IP Bandwidth Inbound data transfer into the platform from the public internet is free of charge. Outbound data transfer from the platform is chargeable based on the volume of data transferred. The volume of data transfer is aggregated per account. The rate payable reduces with volume as per the following table. An individual Customer may have a number of separate projects which are discrete application environments. Where customers require additional public IP addresses these can be provided by DataCentred at a monthly charge of 2 per allocated public IP address (customers can provide own internal IP space). 7 Device hosting Where customers need to locate devices within the data centre to integrate with the cloud service e.g. network termination devices, appliances, tape libraries, dedicated servers, these can be hosted in DataCentred provided racks adjacent to the Cloud service from which cross connects can be provided into the Cloud service. Pricing is 75 per subscribed Amp per month. Technical support time that is needed to support the installation is billable at the rates in the SFIA rate card. Discounts For customers who have substantial stable ongoing usage needs for our Cloud services we provide the following discounts linked to contractual commitment for minimum period of 12 months. At the end of each 12 months this must be renewed for a successive 12 month period to retain the discount. Commitment upgrades within term of initial commitment would extend the commitment for 12 months from the upgrade. We provide an additional discount for Research and Education sector. 8 Trial Service For many customers, despite the low cost of Cloud services, it often can make sense to do an evaluation prior to committing to a purchase for a wider deployment. In order to facilitate this we offer a free trial scope of the following resources. Up to 10 server instances (select any instance type from dx1.1x0, dx1.1x1, dx1.1x2, dx2.2x2, dx2.2x4) 1 TB of permanent storage (block and/or object) Up to 5TB of data transfer out of the platform OpenStack Load balancer as a Service with up to 100 concurrent sessions Duration up to 2 months (1440 hours) This may be extended in scope or time by agreement to complete the evaluation.
