1 SECTION I EXPLANATORY NOTES. NOTICE TO MARINERS GUIDANCE 1. Indonesian Notices to Mariners using dual languages Indonesian and English. 2. Asterisk (*) Indicates that Notices to Mariners are based on original information from Indonesia. 3. Preliminary and Temporary notices are signed with (P) and (S) in IDNM numbers and sign ( x ) indicates that Notices to Mariners has previously been issued as Preliminary and Temporary Notices. Used term Collapsed,Missing,Estinguished,Relit,Damaged and Drifted. 4. Location of the object is described by mentioning the area in vicinity. 5. Lights object described by Indo. Lights List Number (IDLL). 6. Affected charts are the latest of printed and edition can be seen in the latest edition of Indonesian Charts Catalogue. 7. Horizontal coordinates are generally presented in Latitude Longitude World Geodetic System 1984 with <WGS-84> mark. Presentation of the coordinates in another system adapted to its Datum, Example: <Bessel Djakarta>. When an unknown coordinate system marked by <Unknown>, and if the coordinates are approximates marked with <PA> (Position Approximate) 8. The Bearings and Directions presented in degrees. For Bearings and Directions associated with the light sectors are taken from the ship's position towards to the target. 9. Terms used in correcting the Charts consist of: a. Insert, corrections or additions related to adding new information. b. Amend, corrections related changes attributes on an object. c. Substitute, correction associated replacement of an object by other objects. d. Move, corrections related changes in the coordinates of an objects. e. Delete, correction concerning the elimination of objects. 10. Some Notices is also displayed in the chart let, to help Mariners on knowing the position of the objects, e.g. lalying of submarine cables or restricted area. For BPI numbers marked areas chart let (chart let) after the description of the location. 11. Related Symbols could be seen on Chart No Radio Navigation Warning broadcast daily by Coast Radio Station (Could be seen in List of Coastal Radio Station) with Hydro-Indo name. 13. The time is considered with Indonesian Western Part Time (WIB)

15 HYDROGRAPHIC NOTE INSTRUCTION 1. The sailors immediately notify Dishidros when encounter hazards of shipping, alteration or damage to navigational aids and shipping as well as alack of information on Indonesia chart other publications. 2. When the position is determined by sextant angles or bearing (true or magnetic mention ) must use more than two lines of bearing for checking.means used to measure the distance to be mentioned (radar,etc).the inclusion of latitude and longitude is only used when the position is determined using method of astronomical measuredments or GPS and a detailed description of the measurement methods and equipment used must be explained. 4. Paper Chart : Pieces/footage on a large scale chart is the best medium to transmit detailed information,where changes or additions written in red.preferably,if the appoinment of the changes described using the largest scale chart (rather than the chart itself ) and written in red but the early details of written questions for the changes to the black unknown.enc : screen shot of the largest scale of display using band ENC with the information changes or addition are written in red. 5. For depth reporting figures, the paper echosounder should be marked time information, depth, etc. and delivered along with a memorandum of the report.
