3 Background (1/2) Maritime accident statistics over the last 5 years to 2012 in KOREA : More than 30% are caused by collisions, grounding and sinking. About 15% of accidents occurred near the harbor or costal area. 4 Background (2/2) Why in harbor? Maritime traffic is congested and complex according to the increasing of traffic volume and larger ships in harbor. Small private fishing boats. Maritime structures (bridge, crane..) Unexpected factors (current, weather..) For Safety & Efficiency in harbor area Need to develop navigation support system!!

Service Ship-side : 3 Collision avoidance service, 4 UKC info. service Tested using Ship-handling Simulator Need to evaluate the services and modify GUI(graphic user interface) (easier, more convenient, more efficient) Plan to test on the global e-navigation test-bed in KOREA (2014)
