4 1. INTRODUCTION Before deciding to buy any products, Customers always have many questions in mind. However, you are not always available there to answer these questions whereas Customers are not patient enough to comb through your site for answers. Do not lose them just because of some questions unanswered. A separate page listing all the Frequently Asked Questions is all you need. 6 2. HOW TO USE 2.1. Overview page Create your separate FAQ page for better searching any popular questions that your customers are considering. This page has 4 main parts: FAQ topics (categories), Questions listing, Search box, Popular tags. Please scroll down to see how you can use on this page How to search answers Customers can search the questions or answers relating to what they concern by various ways: Search questions in the most frequently asked questions Search questions according to categories Use the search bar Use the popular tags Magento FAQ version 3.0 5

7 Search in the most frequently asked questions You can find the link to FAQ from the homepage or any page of the system Click on the FAQ link to open FAQ overview page. The page shows most frequently asked questions on the top of FAQ Topics. Magento FAQ version 3.0 6

8 All questions of Most FAQs will be showed on the right. Click on the question to see the answer How to search questions according to categories Suppose that a customer is now in the overview page and he wants to search information relevant to product features displayed on your site. He can simplify the step by looking for the questions in the Product Features category which can be easily found here. Magento FAQ version 3.0 7

9 After click on Product Features category, you can see all questions in the this category. Similarly, you can view the answer to each question by clicking on that question. Magento FAQ version 3.0 8

10 2.4. How to use search bar Searching method according to the Most FAQs and categories seems extremely hard when there are too many questions and topics in the system. FAQ extension provides a search tool based on keywords. It can be easily found in every FAQ pages. For example, a customer is wondering about Affiliate extension and he can use the keyword Affiliate for his search. HOW TO CONFIGURE In this part, we plan to guide you how to configure module and manage questions and topics in Admin Configuration You can find out the parameter configuration in module by going to System > Configuration. You will see the configuration for module once clicking the FAQ link. Magento FAQ version

13 Here, you can configure three parameters for the module and such a configuration will affect the display of module in the frontend. Enable FAQ: If Yes, the module is enabled on your site Number of questions per page: The number of frequently asked questions you want to show on FAQ overview page. In this case, the value is set to be 8, so the result in the frontend will be: Magento FAQ version

14 Display on sidebar: You can configure to show FAQ block on right sidebar, left sidebar or not. If you choose to display on right sidebar or left sidebar, you can configure the number of frequently asked questions shown. Here is an example of FAQ shown on right sidebar with five questions: Magento FAQ version

15 Number of tags shown in sidebar: The number of tags you want to display on the sidebar of FAQ page. At the moment, the value is set to be 3, so the result in the frontend will be: Meta Keyword: Enter your meta keyword to optimize your page for SEO Meta Description: Enter your meta description to optimize your page for SEO 3.2. How to add question topic In order to create the list of questions in the system, it is necessary for you to define their topic. At first, log in to the backend by using an allowed account for FAQ module. Open the link FAQ > Manage Category. Magento FAQ version

16 Now you will see a list of categories you have created (In case the module have just been installed, no category can be found). So as to create a new category, click on the Add category button on the top of the page. Magento FAQ version

17 In the next page, you will see a form in which you can fill necessary information for categories. You need to add information to the sections. Note that: Sort Order: The order of categories shown in the frontend. The category with the smaller order number will be displayed first. After filling all necessary information in, you will have two options including Save/ Save and Continue, both of which help you to save the category How to add questions After creating appropriate categories, you can begin to develop questions for each category. Go to FAQ > Manage FAQ: Similar to the category management, you can view the list of questions. Here, the button Add FAQ can be found. After clicking on Add FAQ, you will find a form to add information for FAQ. Magento FAQ version

18 Title: Be consistent with question contents Description: Detailed answer to the question Tags: Insert tags for the question and separate them with comas. It will help customers quickly search by tags in frontend Category: Category that the question belongs to Url Key: You can leave it empty. Url Key will be automatically created based on the question content. Most Frequently Asked Question: Select Yes if you want this question to be displayed in the most frequently asked questions. Status: Choose Enabled to show your FAQ After finishing your work, click on the Save button to save. Magento FAQ version
